FILE – In this Monday, April 9, 2018, file photo, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan speaks at a news conference in Annapolis, Md. The governors of multiple East Coast states have announced that they will not deploy National Guard resources near the U.S.-Mexico border, a largely symbolic but politically significant rejection of the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy that has resulted in children being separated from their families. Hogan, a Republican, announced Tuesday, June 19, 2018, on his Twitter account that he has ordered four crewmembers and a helicopter to immediately return from where they were stationed in New Mexico. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan was on “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd and other guest, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to talk about the response to the Wuhan coronavirus.
Hogan praised the effort that everyone was putting into, from the top on down, federal to local governments.

From Townhall:
“I understand people out there are concerned about when is it going to look better. Just know that people all over the place are working as hard as they possibly can to fight this hidden enemy,” Hogan explained. “And it’s going to take all of us, not only local governments, the cities, like the mayor, the state governments, all the governors, the federal government.” [….]
“We don’t know how long or how bad it’s gonna be but it’s going to continue until we get it stopped,” the governor said. “We’re just gonna keep fighting it 24-hours a day until we can get it done.”
But de Blasio then attacked that, claiming that no, not everything was being done. “It’s not true that people everywhere are fighting with all they got because our military is being sidelined and the White House is in denial. It’s just not true, governor. That’s just not true.”
This of course is just nonsense, as Hogan explained, “We got military all over our state doing all kinds of great things, like humanitarian missions, helping with hospitals.”
De Blasio replied, “You’ve got [the] National Guard. You do not have the American military,” not seeming to understand that the National Guard is part of the military.
Indeed, as Hogan noted, not only has Trump activated the National Guard in multiple states, but he’s also designated two military ships off the coast of New York and California to help provide hospital beds and additional care if needed, according to ABC. Plus the military the Defense Department has provided ventilators, N95 masks and other protective care to the government to be distributed where needed and the Defense Department’s labs are also being delegated to the task of helping out with testing as needed.
Hogan then dropped a good one on de Blasio, “And your governor in New York is doing the same things so maybe you ought to talk to him and see.”
De Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo have a longstanding animosity which is well-known. De Blasio flamed out in the presidential effort for the Democratic nomination. People this week have praised Cuomo as a possible presidential candidate in the future for staying on task and focusing on fighting the virus.
Cuomo has also praised Trump’s response to the virus, saying that in fact that Trump and his team are “on it” and “doing everything they can do.”

Meanwhile, de Blasio’s own city department of health folks have threatened to resign over what they feel is his own inaction in dealing with the issue. So maybe he should get his own city in order first before he tries to bash the efforts of other Americans.
