What are the signs of the zombie apocalypse or the end of the world?

Surely we’ve seen a few in the past week.

Constant Trump critics like Gov. Gavin Newsom and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) were among those who praised the response of President Donald Trump to dealing with the Wuhan coronavirus.

Now we may have to add another sign.

MSNBC’s Al Sharpton, a now-harsh critic of Trump, whose entire history has been built on dividing people, actually put out a nice tweet about the president trying to reach out to him. Sharpton even encouraged others to come together and put aside division as they had done on the call.

This week, in the spirit of unity, I made a moral appeal to the @WhiteHouse to consider the homeless & incarcerated amid #COVID19. To my surprise, @realDonaldTrump called me to discuss it. If Trump can call a critic like Al Sharpton, we can *all* find it in us to come together.

Wouldn’t that be nice if everyone could take that attitude?

Of course, Sharpton and Trump used to be friends, Trump reportedly helped him on a couple of occasions even allegedly donating to his organization at one point.

But the Trump came out as a Republican and ran for president and got blasted by the left, that “friendship” disappeared from Sharpton.

But it’s something that Trump has often shown a willingness to do, reach out to the other side especially on topics he has taken a great interest in, such as the prison reform. It’s the other side who has often kicked him in the teeth or rejected any reach across the aisle.

The response to his tweet was interesting. Almost all universally negative from the left, along the lines of “he’s just trying to get the black vote” and telling Sharpton to reject him.

The right on the other hand said it was good that Sharpton (for once) was not being nasty toward Trump.

Maybe, just for once, we can have some hands across the aisle and addressing issues, rather than narrative.
