During a protest over abortion outside the Supreme Court today, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer threatened Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

First, his spokesperson tried to justify the comments, trying to argue that President Donald Trump had attacked Justices Sonya Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Trump criticized them for their biased remarks, he did not in any way threaten them as Schumer did Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.

When that didn’t go over well, the spokesperson shifted the statement slight to say that it wasn’t directed at the Justices but at the Senate, which was a lie, since he called out Gorsuch and Kavanaugh by name.

Chief Justice John Roberts called out the comments saying they put the court in danger.

Let’s start with it’s wrong in any way to threaten a Supreme Court Justice, but especially because he’s trying to influence their vote and threaten them over it. They have lifetime tenure exactly to be above political considerations and that’s why all norms call for protecting them from such threats.

That is all norms before Democrats started scrapping norms.

People from both sides of the aisle are weighing in with many Democrats trying to justify Schumer’s remarks.

Remember this vile Democrat who bore false witness against Kavanaugh?

Here’s Hillary Clinton’s former aide, Brian Fallon, cheering on threats to the Justices who don’t bend to their intimidation.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is calling for a censure of Schumer.

The president came to the defense of the Supreme Court Justices.

This really is something that should be censured and he should get punished for it. Hopefully, the Senate which is in the hands of the GOP, will actually hold him to account.
