Remember when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) pooh-poohed the Squad, the new 2018 freshmen radical leftists led by socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

They were just a small part of the Democratic Party, she indicated, just “five people.”

Last year, she claimed that socialism didn’t represent her views or those of the Democratic Party.

From Free Beacon:

“When Medicare was done by the Congress at the time, under Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan said, ‘Medicare will lead us to a socialist dictatorship.’ This is an ongoing theme of the Republicans,” Pelosi said. “However, I do reject socialism as an economic system. If people have that view, that’s their view. That is not the view of the Democratic Party.”

She has spent the time since in some ways kowtowing to their crazy and giving their extremism largely a pass.

Bernie Sanders was always the “crazy socialist” in Congress for decades. Now they’ve moved to him.

Now Pelosi is effectively embracing it, admitting that she would be comfortable with Sanders if he were the nominee.

From The Hill:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday said she would be comfortable with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) as the Democratic presidential nominee in November.

The congresswoman was asked the question as she was leaving a closed-door meeting in the House basement Wednesday morning.

She replied with one word: “Yes.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also suggested he would be comfortable with Sanders when asked the question.

“Look, the bottom line is very simple,” Schumer said Tuesday when asked about Sanders’s praise of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s literacy program.

“We have a lot of strong nominees. … I’m not supporting one over the other, but I think every one of them will beat President Trump,” he said.

This is where their TDS and craven attempt for power has led them, embracing a socialist. Doesn’t matter what he’s said or would do, or how he would hurt the country.

They own it now.
