After several months of failing to answer the Hunter/Ukraine question and blowing up at anyone who asked about it, Joe Biden is now trying to go on the offensive to shut down any reporting or further questions.

First his campaign put out an ad, blaming President Donald Trump, as though he were somehow responsible for anything Hunter Biden did with Burisma or Ukraine, claiming any issues were “debunked” (word of the day). The ad, however, had incorrect information in it and was itself, easily debunked.

Next, they sent out a letter to media demanding that the media not cover the issue unless they prefaced it as a “debunked” claims. This, as new information was dropping about a meeting the Obama Administration held allegedly regarding Burisma and Hunter Biden with the reported whistleblower Eric Ciaramella, Ukrainian officials and embassy officials.

The question hasn’t been “debunked” in the mind of Senate Judiciary Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Graham has already sent requests to the State Department for the records concerning Joe Biden’s interactions with Ukraine during the period of the firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor and any documents related to Hunter Biden. Graham noted in that request to the State Department that the prosecutor who Biden on video admitted to getting fired was fired the month after he raided the home of the Burisma head.

Graham doubled down on that on Thursday saying that the issue was not debunked and it needed to be looked into, that it was a double standard that has allowed the Bidens to skate any investigation into Hunter’s actions when his father was the point man for the Obama administration on Ukraine.

From Washington Examiner:

“As to the Bidens, I can promise you no one has looked at whether or not there was a conflict of interest, and no one has taken the time to explain how Hunter Biden got rich in the Ukraine and his father didn’t know anything about it,” Graham said. “As much as I like Joe Biden, if it were Lindsey Graham or Mike Pence or Donald Trump, you would be looking.” [….]

“I don’t think Joe Biden is corrupt, but I don’t think he is beyond being looked at,” Graham, 64, said. “I love Joe Biden, but I can tell you I am not going to sit on the sidelines and just watch the Trumps be looked at.”

Graham has said however that he doesn’t want to do it as part of the impeachment trial, that he wants a separate proceeding and wants the impeachment trial over with as soon as possible.
