Democrats are such hypocrites.

Remember how they told us that impeachment was all about the Constitution and was a solemn and sober endeavor, “prayerful,” not political at all, no sir.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is conducting her “Not so solemn or sober” tour by going on “Real Time With Bill Maher” and gleefully celebrating impeachment.

In all honesty, she looked like death warmed over and maybe someone on the show gave her a bad make up job.

But she claimed that impeachment was “inevitable.” Perhaps, especially if you’ve been trying since he was elected and you have the majority who would impeach if he breathed, for the unforgivable crime of winning and beating their candidate.

“It wasn’t a question of his being worth it. The Constitution was worth it. He had to be impeached,” she claimed. Especially when your Democratic candidates for 2020 are particularly uninspiring and Democrats need every edge to be able to win.

Then she got to crowing about her accomplishment and the point she wanted to spread to the public. Because of course, it wasn’t political.

“And you’re impeached forever,” Pelosi replied with a big grin on her face, sparking applause from the audience. “No matter what the Senate does, that can never be erased.”

The HBO star later offered Pelosi a chance to speak directly to the president — on the off chance that Trump was watching the show.

“If I knew that the president was listening, I would want him to know that he is impeached forever,” Pelosi said, “and he is impeached forever because he used the office of president to try to influence a foreign country for his personal and political benefit and doing so, he undermined our national security, he was disloyal to his oath of office to protect the Constitution and he placed in jeopardy the integrity of our election.”

None of that was true.

But if you actually believe in the Constitution, you understand that it’s a process that can have an acquittal at the end of it and you don’t say ridiculous things like “he’s impeached forever” as though that means anything after an acquittal.

Not only did she go after Trump, but she also targeted her nemesis, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell who out battled her and made her look silly in the impeachment trial fight.

She had previously attacked McConnell, stoking conspiracy theories about McConnell just as Democrats have for three years about Trump, suggesting McConnell had “Russian connections” and calling him an “accomplice” in Russian meddling. She reiterated that attack on Maher’s show calling him “Moscow Mitch.”

Madness, given that it was the Democrats who actually conspired with a foreign national and used what was likely Russian disinformation to undermine the 2016 election. They’re still spinning that web to their base and their base is still buying it.
