Guess a good party is hard to skip, even if your party is trying to impeach the president and trying to get him removed. But it’s pretty darn hypocritical if you’re bashing President Donald Trump one minute and trying to get him out and then attending one of his parties.

But a group of Democrats and one ‘Independent’ were spotted at the president’s Congressional Ball at the White House on Thursday before the House Judiciary Committee voted to advance article of impeachment, according to the Daily Caller. Among them was a harsh critic of President Donald Trump.

The group included Rep. Antonio Delgado (D-NY), Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV), Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA), Rep. Jim Costa (D-CA), Rep. Josh Harder (D-CA), Rep. Gil Cisneros (D-CA) and Rep. Justin Amash (I-MI).

Amash, who used to be a Republican and has been calling for Trump to be impeached since at least May, has said that he will vote to impeach Trump.

When Axios queried what Amash was doing there, his staff’s answer sounded definitely defensive and weak: “Rep. Amash has celebrated Christmas at the White House with his colleagues every year he has served in Congress.”

Some of the attendees are among the 31 “Trump District” Democrats who are being looked at closely as to how they might vote. That includes Delgado, Lee and Luria. Costa, Harder and Cisneros are not considered among the 31 and are likely to vote with the party.

Lee came out in favor of impeachment yesterday, despite having attended the ball the night before. According to The Hill, Lee said, “I took an oath of office to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” She continued, “This is a solemn decision. I end with this: democracies live and die by the integrity of our elections.” Apparently she’s not at all bothered at how the DNC and her party’s candidate, Hillary Clinton undermined the integrity of our election in 2016 by paying a foreign national to spread Russian disinformation to the media and the FBI.

Delgado and Luria have not yet come out with their decisions.

There are two Democrats who have already shown aversion to impeachment. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) voted against moving the impeachment proceedings forward on October 31, as did Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN). Van Drew has indicated that he will be voting against impeachment after listening to the hearings, Peterson has not weighed in yet but may be another no vote.

Two of the other 31, Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) and Rep. Kendra Horn (D-OK) both faced angry constituents at town halls urging them to vote against impeachment. Horn’s constituents said, “If she votes for impeachment, she’s screwed” and “We want Congress to get back to work for the American people.” Spanberger’s constituents called the impeachment charges “lie,” “crap” and “incredible bulls**t.”
