Have to give it to House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA).
It’s rare to see someone who feels he can lie with such impunity so often, even in the face of facts to the contrary. He seems not concerned in the least about telling bold face lies to the American people.
Schiff was on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper on Sunday, when Tapper asked him if he thought the the pursuit of impeachment was going to hurt Democrats ultimately, in the elections. Tapper also cited polls showing that support for impeachment had dropped among independents in battleground states like Wisconsin, a critical state for Democrats if they hope to win back the presidency. Tapper cited the poll that found 53% opposed impeachment and removal.
Schiff then lied his head off, claiming that support for impeachment has “grown fairly dramatically over the past two months.”

But of course, he doesn’t care about polls because all they’re after is doing their “constitutional duty.”
If anyone believes that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn…
If that were true, they wouldn’t need to poll test what words would resonate best with the American people. If that were true, they wouldn’t have been trying to find reasons to impeach President Donald Trump pretty much since he was elected.
In the words of Rep. Al Green (D-TX) who gave away their reasoning, “I’m concerned if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.”
But Americans are wise to them, and that’s why, especially after the public portion of the hearings, support for impeachment is dropping, as Benny Johnson points out.
