Greta Thunberg is stuck in the U.S. and trying to get back to Europe for a climate change conference, COP25, in Spain.

Ironically, she sailed here, not taking a plane, with one of her aims to go to the conference which was originally supposed to be held in Santiago, Chile. But then the location was changed last week. So now she’s trying to find a way to get back, as we reported this past weekend.

What’s often not highlighted in the reports of her travels is the fact that two people that sailed her over in the boat then flew back. And then two more people were flown in to sail the boat back. How much more carbon was that compared to just flying over on a commercial plane that was already coming here?

But although her antipathy toward plane travel is known, she didn’t seem to have a problem meeting with a private jet aficionado, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, as Twitchy observes.

DiCaprio, a big pusher of the climate change agenda, met with the 16-year-old and posted on Instagram how they had “committed” to supporting each other. He also called her a “leader of our time.”

“There are few times in human history where voices are amplified at such pivotal moments and in such transformational ways – but @GretaThunberg has become a leader of our time. History will judge us for what we do today to help guarantee that future generations can enjoy the same livable planet that we have so clearly taken for granted. I hope that Greta’s message is a wake-up call to world leaders everywhere that the time for inaction is over. It is because of Greta, and young activists everywhere that I am optimistic about what the future holds. It was an honor to spend time with Greta. She and I have made a commitment to support one another, in hopes of securing a brighter future for our planet. #FridaysforFuture #ClimateStrike @fridaysforfuture”

One has to wonder if Greta is aware of the history of her new buddy and his affection for private jet travel as he roams the world speaking about climate change and partying with his buddies.

Throw in more from a yacht.

The Daily Caller News Foundation asked those pushing the climate change agenda including DiCaprio if they would be behind banning private jets.

Climate activist and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who joined the “People’s Climate March” in New York City in 2016, did not reply to TheDCNF’s question. TheDCNF attempted to contact DiCaprio though his private foundation, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

However, “The Revenant” actor burned more than 17,000 gallons of jet fuel in 2016 during a round trip from France to New York City to accept an environmental award at the Riverkeeper Fishermen’s Ball. DiCaprio flew back one day later to France to attend an AIDS benefit gala.

How about when he flew to Canberra with other Hollywood stars and then they flew out on a jumbo jet so they could celebrate two New Year’s Eves Jan 1, 2013.

But remember, he’s “committed.”
