Usually when Donald Trump has a bad polling stretch he can rely on some fluke outlier somewhere to give him a boost, so he and his devoted followers can spend the next few days crowing that he’s actually winning.
No such luck today from fellow New York billionaire Bloomberg.

NBC yesterday released their national poll, but today they brought out their swing state results. It’s doom across the board: Trump is losing in Ohio, running 10 points behind Rob Portman. Down big in Pennsylvania, running 7 points behind Pat Toomey. And on top of that, he’s even down in Iowa. The only result that wasn’t a solid Hillary Clinton lead, was a freak four way poll result in Iowa that had Jill Stein at 6% and Gary Johnson at 12%, numbers outrageously beyond anything either party has before achieved in the state.
Even the outliers can’t give Trump a lead anymore.
Then you’ve got the Bloomberg poll. It’s another national rout: Clinton 50, Trump 44. Clinton keeps hitting that critical 50% mark lately. When Clinton hits 50, that’s important because it means the race is out of reach for Trump even if he gets more Republicans to rally from third parties or staying at home.
Clinton’s lead in the poll average is up to a whopping 7.7, with her at 48%. With Trump’s latest comments angering the left, and embarrassing second amendment supporters, I just don’t see how he turns this around, either.
This hole is deep, and I think Leon Wolf is right. “It no longer seems possible that Trump will be able to dig himself out of the hole he is in, electorally speaking.” The only way he comes back from this is some external event. He was relying on an indictment of Clinton, but that ship has sailed. What’s left?
