This tweet basically sums up the situation:
Braley says he never met Bloomberg. His own website shows this is a lie. #IAsen – http://t.co/5bTbggSGfC – pic.twitter.com/dx4CltS15S

Basically, Bruce Braley claimed on Saturday that he has never even met Michael Bloomberg; a claim that is undercut by stuff on Braley’s own website. Twitchy notes that the Braley campaign is trying to spin now that Bruce Braley was lying in the 2010 press release*, not in his 2014 debate comments, which is… about the best that they could hope to do, I suppose. The fundamental problem here is that in 2010 it looked like a good idea for [mc_name name=’Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B001259′ ] to cozy up to Bloomberg: but in 2014 it’s not even remotely smart for a candidate for statewide office in Iowa to do that. To say nothing of the entire ‘No Labels’ thing, which has not aged well at all, at all.
Gonna be a fascinating three weeks. Also can’t wait to see how the last half-week of Braley stepping on every rake he can find will affect the onrushing polling…

*The Braley campaign started out by claiming that Bloomberg wasn’t actually there, but that’s not going to work out for the Braley campaign:
