As we've known for years, America's powerful teachers' unions have demonstrated that they're far more interested in promoting and shilling for left-wing causes than providing quality education to America's kids.
In a glaring recent example, as RedState's Becky Noble reported in mid-December, the National Education Association (NEA) — the nation's largest teachers' union — hosted a typical teachers' union conference.
The topic? "Advancing LGBTQ+ Justice." Shocked? Me neither.
So, yeah, raise your hand if you think the conference spent even a modicum of time focused on improving the quality of education in America — vs. ranting about insane left-wing idiocy.
Now, in yet another example of jaw-dropping abuse, newly unearthed federal labor filings reveal that the NEA has shoveled millions of dollars of teacher dues into the coffers of far-left radical organizations, ballot scams, and to various "social justice grifters."
Again, try to control your shock and amazement.
A November Form L-2 disclosure from the NEA, which was obtained by the North American Values Institute (NAVI), blows the lid off the previously unpublicized 2024 scam.

The NEA, which boasts more than 3 million members, sent $300,000 to the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a liberal dark money group ... and thousands of dollars to the Tides Foundation network, which Fox News Digital previously reported has ties to anti-Israel protests and a variety of far left causes.
It Gets Better (Worse)
Among the NEA’s “top priorities,” apparently, was funneling more than $3.5 million to Education International (EI), which, as far as I can tell, embodies social justice advocacy, anti-racism campaigns, and global solidarity efforts aligned with progressive causes like combating so-called "institutional racism," and of course supporting LGBTQ+ initiatives, and championing illegal immigrant students.
Oh, I almost forgot: EI also happens to boast about NEA President Becky Pringle as a vice president. Purely a coincidence, I assume.
The uncovered filings also reveal that the NEA poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into efforts to remake education policy through shaping election laws in Ohio, Massachusetts, Arizona, and Wisconsin. Hey, nothing says "quality education" like political crusades in four different states.

NAVI Director of Research Mika Hackner told Fox News Digital:
This is the upshot of social justice unionism. Instead of focusing on member's working conditions, unions spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on pet political projects completely divorced from the needs and wants of most teachers but perfectly in line with the political agenda the union has been co-opted to serve.
Exactly.
But, Erika Sanzi, senior director of communications for Defending Education, said it even better (emphasis, mine):
Their federal charter was granted because they promised to ‘elevate the character and advance the interests of the profession of teaching; and to promote the cause of education in the United States.’ Seeing as their leadership — and by extension, the organization itself — has morphed into a far-left insane asylum that is actively destroying the cause of education, that charter is no longer defensible.
Can I get an "amen"?
The Bottom Line:
America's teachers' unions abandoned actual teaching, not to mention quality education, years ago, and America's students are far the worse for it.
Not only is this article illustrative of the educational and moral decline of these powerful unions; they have also thoroughly corrupted education, transforming it into a tool for indoctrination and control.
