NYT 'Analyst' Flies Wingman for Hamas, Warns Terrorist Group Faces 'Big Risk' by Releasing Hostages

As much of the world continues to applaud the historic ceasefire brokered by President Donald Trump and his administration between Israel and Hamas, a Tel Aviv-based analyst at The New York Times has, shall I say, a "slightly" different take.

Yep, Adam Rasgon, writing for the self-proclaimed purveyor of "all the news that's fit to print" believes that the terrorist group —which committed horrific atrocities inside Israel on October 7, 2023, slaughtering roughly 1,200 innocent people, and taking some 250 more hostage — is taking a "big risk" by releasing its remaining 48 hostages, more than half of whom are presumed to be dead.

Here's more:

The Palestinian militant group had long said it was willing to release all the hostages in exchange for the complete withdrawal of Israeli military forces from Gaza, a permanent end to the war and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

The deal reached on Thursday only guarantees one of those three things: the prisoner release. There is no certainty it will lead to the end of the war and, initially, it only provides for a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces.

Unconscionable.

The Times, along with countless other left-wing outlets, remains clueless about why its readership continues to decline — just as the Democrat Party continues to remain clueless about why it got its butt handed to it in the 2024 general election, and why it even now continues to bleed voters.

As is customary of left-wing media, The Times quoted a blatantly biased source as part of its reasoning and concern over Hamas releasing the hostages. Esmat Mansour, a Palestinian analyst who spent years in Israeli prisons with Hamas leaders, said of the ceasefire:

Hamas just made major concessions. It is taking a risk in believing the war will end, but it also has few other options at its disposal. [There's a] long road is ahead of us. The remaining issues are not easy ones.

If the remaining issues "are not easy ones," it will be because Hamas refuses to give up its weaponry, continues terrorist attacks against Israel and Israeli interests, and chooses to maintain its vice-like grip on Palestinians in Gaza — where it's rather fond of public executions of Palestinians accused of collaborating with Israel.

As The Times reminded, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has consistently said Hamas must give up its weaponry before the war in Gaza can end.

Just one problem:

Hamas has long regarded surrendering its arms as tantamount to surrender and views armed struggle as a legitimate form of resistance against Israeli control over so-called "Palestinian lands."

The Bottom Line

While I'm well aware of social media keyboard jockeys gleefully declaring "Peace!" in the aftermath of the announcement of an agreement on phase one of President Trump's 20-point peace plan, I'm also keenly aware of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain declaring in 1938, after a series of talks with German dictator Adolf Hitler, "Peace in our time."

Less than one year later, Hitler's Army invaded Poland, and World War II was on.

Simply, Hamas must be disarmed — at the very least.
