It just keeps getting better, gang.
While President Donald Trump continues on a winning streak seldom seen in presidential politics, the Democrat Party continues to self-immolate — devoid of constructive dialog, much less offering solutions other than throwing fire bombs (pun intended?) — over virtually everything that comes down the conservative pike.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Democrat theatrics are about to erupt into full-metal histrionic meltdown — at least in Florida — after Gov. Ron DeSantis's announcement of a "Second Amendment Tax Holiday."
DeSantis said on Monday:
Thank you ... for heeding my call to deliver a Second Amendment Tax Holiday, and so firearms, ammo, accoutrement — also, as well as other outdoor items like fishing and bow-hunting, and things — are gonna be tax-free from September 8 until December 31 of this year, so you're going to be able to very well.

The tax holiday extends a previous proposal for a "Second Amendment Summer" tax break, which was initially set for Memorial Day to July 4, 2025. In addition to covering a broad range of firearms and accessories, the initiative is also designed to offer financial relief to Floridians exercising their Second Amendment rights.
As reported by Florida Politics on Monday, DeSantis signed the $115.1 billion budget after two legislative session extensions over tax cuts and policy approaches to reduce spending. The budget includes a complete repeal of the Sunshine State's business rent tax, and also contains language making permanent sales tax holidays for hurricane preparedness and back-to-school shopping.
“Don’t let any of these elected officials give you any excuses as to why we can’t do this,” DeSantis said, “We can do it.” He added:
The Legislature has also done something that I’ve been asking for many years, and that’s eliminating a tax that only Florida has, of all 50 states, and that’s taxing business rent. It’s not good for our economy. It’s not good for business growth. And so that tax is being sunsetted. How many times do you hear governments eliminating a tax?
New York, Illinois, California, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, and Washington were unavailable for comment. I say that sarcastically — given that I've not reached out to any of the above hyper-leftist states.

Second Amendment Wins Continue With Strikedown of Ridiculous California Gun-Rationing Law
Meanwhile, FOX News reported that two female teenagers — a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old — were shot in New York City on Sunday following the city’s Pride parade. The 16-year-old was shot in the head and is in critical condition, while the 17-year-old was shot in the leg and is reportedly in stable condition.
So how is this above relevant to the histrionics of gun-grabbers with a bad habit of blaming guns for violent crimes rather than the people who commit those crimes? This way:
According to Everytown for Gun Safety, New York ranks as the number-four state in the U.S. on gun-control stringency. The group describes New York as having some of “the strongest gun laws in the country, with one of the lowest rates of gun violence and gun ownership.”
So while the gun-grabbers will no doubt howl at the moon over the Florida governor's sales tax hiatus on firearm sales and related purchases, things could be a whole lot worse than in the Sunshine State and other states committed to the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners.
