It's no surprise that the official 2024 Democrat Party platform, released late Sunday, is jam-packed with lies from beginning to end. After all, every Democrat Party platform is jam-packed with lies from beginning to end. But what makes this one "special" is the blatancy of its ridiculous claims.
For starters, the platform calls for the reelection of President Joe Biden, who was still the candidate at the time the document was finalized in mid-July. “President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are running to finish the job,” it reads.
As a writer, I find that inexcusable. If I wrote an article in mid-July, held onto it until key facts were no longer true, then published it, what would that say about my professionalism — or lack thereof? What would it say about what I think about my readers? That they'll get over it? Very poor form — at best.
Moreover, the platform claims that Biden and Harris have achieved great progress for Americans, repeatedly highlighting Biden's achievements and positions — even when they differ from Harris' comments.
One question: What achievements?
Biden's disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, resulting in the deaths of 11 Marines, one Navy corpsman, and one Army soldier — and as many as 9,000 Americans left behind Taliban lines?
Perhaps the way Biden intentionally drove up gas prices, ultimately raiding Strategic Oil Reserves — several times — in desperate efforts to lower them?
Or, maybe his greatest "achievement" was overall Bidenomics and his stubborn insistence (blatant lies) that the Biden economy has been a success.
Then again, the Biden Border Crisis will forever rank at or near the top of his greatest "achievements." Yep, his intentional importation of as many illegal aliens as he could get away with in an effort to permanently change the demographics of the U.S. — solely with the future ballot box in mind, of course — will be the cornerstone of his legacy.
The platform omits most of Kamala's radical proposals — an innocent oversight, I'm sure — beginning with her call for socialist-style price controls to fight so-called "price gouging" (or "gauging," in Kamala-speak), that nobody seems to be able to prove are occurring, and her taxpayer-funded $25,000 down payment for first-time home buyers that anyone with a modicum of understanding of basic economics and supply and demand knows would immediately drive up the cost of housing.
In addition, the platform makes a number of misleading claims, most preposterous among them is that the U.S. is “finally rebuilding … broadband” as part of the administration’s investment in infrastructure. The reality? Despite a $42.5 billion fund for expanding broadband under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which Harris was supposed to supervise, not one new broadband connection has been built. Not one.
The platform also defends irreversible mutilation — "gender-affirming surgery" — and drug treatments for “transgender youth” without specifying the age at which children should be provided such surgeries. These surgeries include double mastectomies and castrations, both surgically and chemically.
Democrats will vigorously oppose state and federal bans on gender-affirming health care.
Among the multiple attacks and false claims against Donald Trump, the platform repeats the “very fine people” hoax — the false claim that Trump praised Neo-Nazis in Charlottesville in 2017. Trump did nothing of the kind. In fact, the then-president said they should be "totally" condemned.

While all party platforms embellish accomplishments and downplay failures, the 2024 Democrat Party platform is an obscene insult to the American people. It is nothing more than a blatant attempt by leftist elites to exploit low-information, rank-and-file Democrat voters. Will it work sufficiently?
