Democrats Blast DNC's Refusal to Hold Debates in 2024 Primaries: 'Supposed to Be a Democratic Process'

So the oft-confused, cognitively impaired, octogenarian president finally officially declared on Tuesday his re-election campaign. Even before Joe Biden announced his decision, Democrats across the fruited plain ripped the Democrat National Committee’s decision to forgo debates in the party’s 2024 primaries.

Incidentally, remember when conservatives first started referring to the “Democrat” Party rather than the “Democratic” Party, which infuriated the bejesus out of the Democrats? Yet, the pointed name change was justifiable and remains even more so: Zero is democratic about today’s Democrat Party, and the refusal to hold debates, because the DNC is terrified every time Biden opens his mouth, is a quintessential example.

As reported by Fox News, Democrat presidential candidate Marianne Williamson and others criticized the DNC’s decision as “undemocratic” and “unfortunate.”

The DNC “plans no primary debates.”

As though there simply ARE no other candidates … no other ideas we should discuss about ways to win in 2024, or other ideas we should discuss about ways to repair the country.

Too many people are too smart to accept this.

Too many people (Democrats) where, Ms. Williamson?

Question: While Marianne Williamson stands somewhere between zero and less than zero chance of winning the Democrat presidential nomination, what happens if a formidable challenger with a very good chance announces his or her decision to enter the race?

Answer: exactly what the DNC wants to happen — or, more precisely, doesn’t want to happen.

The annihilation of a delusional Democrat president who can’t find his way off the stage, after he again gets his ass kicked by a teleprompter; must be kept from wandering away on the White House grounds by an oversized Easter Bunny; makes up nonsensical words, and regularly forgets the names of his own cabinet members must not be allowed to happen. Even worse, as the DNC correctly assesses the potential nightmare, Biden being destroyed by fellow Democrats on national television is unthinkable to the DNC.

Nina Turner, former Ohio state senator and co-chair of Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, called the DNC’s decision “undemocratic.”

The DNC refusing to hold a single primary debate is undemocratic and robs the voters of choice. No one who feels confident in their record and/or ideas would hesitate to stand on them. The DNC should hold debates. This is supposed to be a democratic process.

Memo to Ms. Turner: “Supposed to be a democratic process” and democracy have become mutually exclusive in today’s radicalized Democrat Party, irrespective of the decision to ban 2024 primary debates.

Recently announced Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — while hardly the likes of Marianne Williamson — likely has little chance of winning the Democrat nomination, either, but what he would have in primary debates with Biden would be an ability to call out the addled president on many of his disastrous policy decisions and their destructive consequence on the country. While dismissed by many as an anti-vax quack, RFK Jr. would destroy Biden, one-on-one.

During his announcement last Wednesday, the 69-year-old Kennedy said:

I’ve come here today to announce my candidacy for [the] Democratic nomination for President of the United States. My mission over the next 18 months of this campaign, and throughout my presidency, will be to end the corrupt merger of state and corporate power that is threatening now to impose a new kind of corporate feudalism on our country.

Kennedy warned “We have a polarization in our country today that is so toxic, so dangerous, than at any time since the Civil War,” as he pledged to end the division by “encouraging people to talk about common values rather than the issues that divide us.”

I’m going to do that by telling the truth to the American people.

He also blasted the media: “We know the media lies to us. Everybody knows that.”

Yeah, I’m pretty sure neither the DNC nor Joe Biden himself would enjoy watching Kennedy — or any other Democrat — burn the woefully inept president to the ground in front of a national audience or anywhere else. Kennedy called the DNC’s decision “unfortunate.”

Lest any of my conservative friends are already girding their loins in anticipation of blasting the Democrat Party for ruling out debates in the 2024 primaries, the Republican National Committee in 2020 made the same decision, refusing to sponsor primary debates between then-President Trump and his challengers, which included former GOP congressman Joe Walsh and former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, neither of whom was considered a serious threat to Trump.

The Bottom Line

While I appreciate the logic in denying long-shot-at-best candidates in both parties the opportunity to dismantle an incumbent president in his or her own party, Joe Biden is clearly in serious mental decline and thus a veritable nightmare for the Democrat Party — with Kamala Harris on deck, no less.

Then again, according to an April NBC News poll, a majority of Americans don’t want Biden or Trump to run again.

70 percent of Americans don’t want Biden to run again, with 51 percent of Democrats saying that. Meanwhile, 60 percent of Americans, including a third of Republicans, say Trump should not run for president.

Yet, a Biden-Trump rematch has a very good chance of becoming a reality. That said, while Trump will gleefully debate (attack) all “very unloyal” challengers, the DNC should also put Biden before the klieg lights and let the Democrat chips fall where they may.
