In this episode of “The Hypocrisy of Joe Biden Knows No Bounds”…
Today, we visit the “U.S. Constitution” edition, in which Joe declares the Second Amendment “was never absolute” as he calls for banning “assault rifles” (AR-15s) and now, inexplicably, 9mm handguns, which he ridiculously claims can “blow a lung out” — yet he fiercely defends on-demand abortion, which he obscenely refers to as an “essential health care service,” and says “A woman’s right to choose is fundamental,” and “the law of the land for almost fifty years.”
Biden’s incredibly selective reasoning that “the stability of our law demands that it (Roe v. Wade) not be overturned,” he says, is “based on the Fourteenth Amendment.”
Two constitutional amendments. One is “precedent-setting,” the other, not so much. Just me, or is Joe Biden’s height of hypocrisy the stuff of Democrat legend, or what?
In a May 3 response to the leaked Supreme Court draft suggesting SCOTUS will overturn Roe prior to the end of its present term, Biden’s statement reads, in part:
[M]y administration argued strongly before the Court in defense of Roe v. Wade. We said that Roe is based on ‘a long line of precedent’ recognizing ‘the Fourteenth Amendment’s concept of personal liberty’… against government interference with intensely personal decisions.
I believe that a woman’s right to choose is fundamental, Roe has been the law of the land for almost fifty years, and basic fairness and the stability of our law demand that it not be overturned.
I’m no constitutional lawyer, but what on God’s green earth does killing unborn children until the moment of birth have to do with “personal liberty”? For whom? The mother, or the murdered baby?
And why should the on-demand killing of unborn children be an “intensely personal” decision granted to anyone? Least of which, a mother-to-be, who decides that all that mother-to-be stuff isn’t for her? Nonetheless, as Joe said, Fourteenth Amendment “rights.”
Now, let’s switch gears and do Joe’s view of the Second Amendment and how “constitutional” it is, along with “a long line of precedent” and “personal liberty” as it relates to the right of the citizenry to bear arms, shall we?
Biden and “Dr.” Jill traveled to Uvalde, Texas, on Sunday to meet with the grieving families of the 19 children and two teachers who died in the shooting. While there, he pledged to “do something” in an effort to prevent future similar shootings.
On Monday, facing pressure to indeed “do something,” Biden declared that the “Second Amendment was never absolute” and that, after the Texas elementary school shooting, “There may be some bipartisan support to tighten restrictions on the kind of high-powered weapons used by the gunman,” as reported by the Associated Press.
Upon returning to Washington D.C., Biden told reporters, as transcribed by AP:
I think things have gotten so bad that everybody’s getting more rational, at least that’s my hope. I’ve been pretty motivated all along. I’m going to continue to push and we’ll see how this goes.
And by “push” Biden was referring to pushing against the Second Amendment, while again telling a blatant lie he has told in the past, multiple times:
The Second Amendment was never absolute. You couldn’t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed. You couldn’t go out and buy a lot of weapons.
One hundred percent crock of crap. Even the Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler has slapped Biden with four Pinocchios, at least twice, for lying about the nonexistent cannon restriction.
“Everything in that statement is wrong,” said David Kopel, the research director and Second Amendment project director at the Independence Institute, told WaPo. After 1791, he said, “there were no federal laws about the type of gun you could own, and no states limited the kind of gun you could own.”
The cannon silliness aside, this piece is a perfect example of the height of hypocrisy of the left, and more specifically, that of Joe Biden. He not only lies with impunity and reckless abandon; he exploits the U.S. Constitution when he believes it helps make his case, yet dismisses it out of hand when it does not.
Toss in Biden’s inability to accept responsibility for anything, and there you have it: Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., the most inept president in modern history, if not the entire history of the presidency.
