This... Is CNN: 'There's Nothing More Frightening Than an Angry White Man'

On today’s episode of “The Most Trusted Name in News”…

One can only imagine the depth of despair and handwringing in the studios of twin “news” outlets CNN and MSNBC as the verdict was announced on Friday, no doubt confirming to Don Lemon, Joy Reid, & Co. what they knew all along: “White supremacist” Kyle Rittenhouse “literally” “got away with murder.”

Angry white man Kyle Rittenhouse, that is.

Just to make sure nobody was confused about where CNN stood, senior writer and producer John Blake on Sunday fired off a trial postmortem of sorts — at “angry white men” in general — in which he declared: “There’s nothing more frightening in America today than an angry White man.”

White male anger could prove to be one of the biggest roadblocks we face in building a successful multiracial democracy.

Utter nonsense, of course. (See: CNN.)

So where to begin?

Some of you think nowhere: These people are irrelevant idiots, the reasoning goes, why give them a platform? Because, as I’ve suggested, borrowing from the Rush Limbaugh Institute of Higher Learning, the more we let these people talk, the more they tell us exactly who they are. That is never a bad thing.

From this race-obsessed clown to HBO’s Bill Maher and everyone in between, their nonsensical in-kind advertising is one of our better tools against everything they spew. We good?

So let’s dive into Mr. Blake’s “analysis,” shall we?

[A]s I’ve watched three separate trials about White male violence unfold across the US these past few weeks — the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, the Ahmaud Arbery death trial and the civil case against organizers of the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville — I’ve come to a sobering conclusion: There is nothing more frightening in America today than an angry White man.

Welp, that’s a rather definitive statement from a rather limited perspective, huh?

“John the Analyst” watched three whole trials — evidence in one of which proved beyond a shadow of a doubt the defendant acted in self-defense while fearing for his life. Yet this guy came lurched to the conclusion that the scariest thing out there is an angry White man. I’m guessing our intrepid analyst hasn’t been to the bloody streets of Chicago’s South Side, East L.A., or any number of other pretty damn frightening (non-angry-white-man) locales, in a while.

Truth: Mr. Blake wrote a clickbait op-ed with a clickbait headline to generate clickbait clicks.

He then compared your average, run-of-the-mill angry white man to a couple of other scary sorts.

It’s not the ‘radical Islamic terrorist’ that I fear the most. Nor is it the brown immigrant or the fiery Black Lives Matter protester, or whatever the latest bogeyman is that some politician tells me I should dread. It’s encountering an armed White man in public who has been inspired by the White men on trial in these three cases.

#ProTip for analyst guy:

Mix in a few facts and violent crime statistics, bud. Let us know which “color” above is most likely to ruin your day as a black man, including by senseless murder, then get back to us. We’ll wait.

While admitting “the vast majority of White men are no menace to society” — an obvious attempt to add an air of objectivity to his ridiculous “analysis, Blake continued his idiocy.

[The] angry White man has been a major character throughout US history. He gave the country slavery, the slaughter of Native Americans, and Jim Crow laws. His anger also helped fuel the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Uh-huh. And whose anger “helped fuel” months of burning, looting, and indiscriminate murder — across America — in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis, for which a white police officer was convicted and sentenced to 22.5 years in prison? (Hint: The initials are “BLM.”)

Blake’s “proof” of Kyle Rittenhouse being an angry white man went like this:

In Wisconsin, a jury found Kyle Rittenhouse not guilty of all charges in the shooting deaths of two men and the wounding of another during a racial protest last year. Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time, said he was in Kenosha during the protests after the police shooting of Jacob Blake to help protect property. He said he shot the men in self-defense.

Lemme fix that for you, John.

The evidence substantiated Rittenhouse’s claim of self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt. Besides, you “forgot” the parts about being jump-kicked, hit in the head with a skateboard, one of the “peaceful protesters” grabbing for his rifle, and another pointing a handgun at him.

Blake goes off on several more diatribes in the silly op-ed, principally about how politics are “becoming more menacing,” “more guns on the streets,” and the sinister “conservative Supreme Court,” as if to further prove an assertion he came nowhere close to proving in the first place.

Oops — I almost forgot: CNN dude also believes “angry white men have damaged democracy.”

We have enough problems with White male violence as it is. Mass shootings in the US are committed more often by White men than by any other group.

Top law enforcement officials now say the nation’s biggest domestic terror threat comes from [Wait for it] White supremacists.

And many of the most indelible news images of recent years include angry, red-faced White men, often armed with guns.

Spoiler: Guess who the writer blames that on? (Hint: The answer starts with “T” and ends with “rump.”)

In a bit of a parting shot, Blake admonishes “No more lectures about Black thugs,” and says:

This White male anger is causing many people — including other White men — to look over their shoulder when they go out in public. The two men who were shot and killed by Rittenhouse in Wisconsin were White, as was the man he wounded.

Um, CNN dude?

None of the guys Kyle Rittenhouse shot were exactly looking over their shoulder in fear of an 18-year-old trying to restore some semblance of law and order where none existed.

Have a CNN day, gang.

Just kidding.
