Meanwhile, Fauci Says It's Time for Americans to 'Put Aside Concerns About Personal Liberties'

One can only imagine — this one, anyway — the withdrawal symptoms Dr. Anthony Fauci has been suffering recently as the disastrous Biden Afghanistan debacle has continued to dominate the news, 24×7. So, what’s an attention-whore to do when all of America is paying attention to something other than him? Why, make some attention-getting “news,” of course. The more Fauci-esque, the better.

In an interview with CBS correspondent Nancy Cordes, the infectious diseases “expert” said it’s time for vaccine-hesitant Americans to “put aside” concerns and personal liberties to help fight against COVID-19, asserting that unvaccinated people are spreading the “highly contagious Delta variant” more so than vaccinated people, and “are becoming more ill than those people who have been vaccinated.”

Perhaps I’m misremembering, but weren’t we told that, while the Delta variant is more contagious than previous variants, the symptoms are less severe? Very confusing.

During an appearance on “Face the Nation,” as reported by The Blaze, Fauci, chief White House medical adviser, called out Americans who are reluctant to receive the COVID-19 vaccines, saying they should recognize the virus as a “common enemy.” Pointing to statistics, “purportedly spurred by the Delta variant,” Fauci told Cordes it’s imperative for “the overwhelming proportion of people” to get vaccinated.

We have litigated “to vax or not to vax, that is the question” more times than I care to remember. Perhaps, you, as well. But what I will continue to litigate — with Anthony Fauci, Joe Biden, or the “journalists” on CNN and MSNBC — is the notion of anyone telling me I should “put aside my concerns about my personal liberties” for the “good” of America — particularly when my level of trust for Dr. Fauci is somewhere between zero and minus-one. That said, I am not anti-vax. Not even close.

Let the (latest) scare tactics begin, via transcript from CBS News. (Emphasis, mine.)

“[W]hat’s coming next is that we are going to have to continue to get people vaccinated so that right now, even in states in which you have a good relative proportion of people vaccinated, you have to get the overwhelming proportion of people vaccinated, but you also have to do mitigation, and that gets to the controversial issue of mask-wearing — and the mandating of things.

Sorry, no.

Oh, hell yeah — according to the Keebler Elf Fauci:

“Mandating of vaccines, for example, for teachers and people in the personnel in the school, but also in situations — as uncomfortable as we know and controversial as we know it is with regard to masks wearing, particularly in the situation in schools — we’ve just got to realize that we’re dealing with a public health crisis.”

After additional beating up on “the unvaccinated,” Flip-Flop Fauci launched the ever-ominous (and contradictory) “breakthrough infections” threat.

“We certainly are getting what are called breakthrough infections, which means a person who was vaccinated might get infected and actually may even spread the virus. But in general, those people are not the ones who are getting seriously ill and dying. It’s the unvaccinated that are doing that.”

He was setting “us” up — that is, setting up anyone who still pays attention to him — for “putting aside” their silly concerns about the loss of personal liberty.

We’ve got to do mitigation, put aside all of these issues of concern about liberties and personal liberties and realize we have a common enemy and that common enemy is the virus. And we really have to all pull together to get on top of this. Otherwise, we’re going to continue to suffer as we’re seeing right now.”

So, are you sufficiently scared? Me, neither.

Sorry, Tony. But, hey — strong effort, little dude.

Meanwhile, let’s check with the Twittersphere and see how Fauci’s latest attack on personal liberty is playing.

Apparently, Tony, people don’t need you lecturing to them about “the enemy.”

This guy suggested that the American left “might” be pushing the conversation — in the name of “science,” of course, solely for politically expedient purposes. Nahhh, the Democrats would never do that, right?

“Shockingly,” patriotic Americans aren’t fond of talk of “putting aside their concerns” about losing their personal liberties.

Finally, this guy had the perfect solution.

I agree, “How’s My Vaccination Status?”, but we both know the “good doctor” has zero intentions of doing that — for a long time.

If ever.
