HOT TAKES: Israeli Actress Gal Gadot Pleads for Peace, Anti-Israel Activists Respond With 'Vicious Vitriol'

Israeli actress Gal Gadot, best known for her portrayal of “Wonder Woman” on the big screen, issued an urgent plea for peace on Wednesday, as Palestinians continued to indiscriminately pound Israel with rockets and the Israelis stepped up retaliatory strikes, reportedly taking out top Palestinian commanders and leveling multiple buildings.

Here’s a bit of background, via The Daily Wire:

Responding to a barrage of thousands of rockets against Jewish civilians launched by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad from the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have executed hundreds of precise strikes against terrorist targets.

The IDF’s most recent actions against the terrorists include destroying a Hamas terror tunnel, security, and intelligence buildings, eliminating numerous top officers in the terrorist organizations, and killing countless numbers of terrorist soldiers.

Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups routinely target Jewish civilians. In recent years, their chosen strategies have included indiscriminate rocket fire targeting Jewish neighborhoods.

On Tuesday alone, a school in Israel was hit as terrorists fired more than 130 rockets in under five minutes, with thousands of rockets being fired from the Gaza Strip in recent days.

In response to the escalating violence, Gadot posted a statement to Twitter and was promptly and predictably met by “vicious vitriol” from anti-Israel activists, as reported by The Blaze.

My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people.

This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation, our neighbors deserve the same.

I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace.

I pray for better days.

“I pray for the victims and their families. … Our neighbors deserve the same. … I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace.”

Sincere. Fair. Nonconfrontational. Peaceful.

Au contraire. Game on, Wonder Woman. Let’s check out a few of those vitriolic responses.

“she says steal,” whose Twitter handle is aptly @DIVINEBIMBO, showed up with this classy tweet:

gal gadot is an ugly zionist who can’t act and is beyond pathetic. time and time again she shows yall that she sides with the ethnic cleansing of palestinians and yall act brand new everytime. f*ck that woman.

No doubt the president of her local MENSA chapter.

UK musician and author James Kennedy enlightened Gal Gadot about how “wrong” she is about Israeli “butchers.”

Gal Gadot is wrong.
Israel is not at ‘war’ with Palestine. Israel is butchering Palestine.
Again.

Ignorance is bliss?

Anti-Israel activist Ayesha A. Siddiqi brought her Hot Take, as well.

I’m glad Gal Gadot said what she said. People should see how Israelis have been laundering the genocide of Palestinians under a disingenuous call for the end of a conflict that has never existed, it’s always been an extermination campaign.

The really ridiculous part? She believes everything she parroted.

“Genocide”? “Extermination campaign”?

If that’s the case, Israel must really suck at genocide, given it responds to attacks against Israeli citizens, which is not to be confused with indiscriminately firing hundreds of rockets into Israel — more than 1,000 over the 48 hours prior to this article’s publication.

“Among the many absurd criticisms of Israel’s inarguable right to defend itself against bloodthirsty terrorism,” noted Daily Wire, is “one argument that stands out is as abhorrent and illogical as it is seemingly mundane.”

Israel’s response is disproportionate.

Yup. Contributing writer to The Atlantic and Brookings Insitute senior fellow Shihai Ameed proved the point:

Washington Democrat Sen. Gordon Steele-John showed up in true form, as well.

“What IS Proportional?”, asked Daily Wire. “The Madness Of Condemning Israel’s ‘Disproportionate’ Use Of Self-Defense Against Terrorism.”

Amen.

And finally, “raviv — רָבִיב ✡︎” summed up his/her feelings in just 10 incisive words.

i wish gal gadot a very shut the f*ck up

[Rolling-eyes emoji]

Haters gonna hate. And haters of Israel are gonna hate even more. Willfully and blindly so.
