Embattled New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is a legend unto himself. I mean, who writes a book about the leadership skills he’s learned during the COVID pandemic after ordering nursing homes to accept patients who have tested positive for the virus, resulting in thousands of deaths?
And who receives an Emmy award, for his more than 100 faux FDR-like “fireside chats,” in which he talked a great game to New Yorkers, while thousands of them died? Answer: Andrew Cuomo — from the fawning Left.
But here’s the thing. Millions of New Yorkers are not only fed up with Cuomo — arguably the most thin-skinned governor in all of America — and his self-aggrandizing, chest-puffing, in-your-face persona; they’re really unhappy about his latest edict: a 10-person limit on Thanksgiving dinners. And how unhappy are they? Cuomo is having a hard time getting commitments from New York sheriffs to enforce his ridiculous order.

So what’s a heavy-handed, self-absorbed governor to do?
As one Upstate New York company sees it, Cuomo is just going to have to police his own order and check on New Yorkers himself to make sure that they are not disobeying their governor, who, you know, is only concerned for their well-being. That’s right, New Yorkers, guess who’s coming to Thanksgiving dinner?
As reported by the New York Post, the Buffalo-based design firm Custom 716 is selling stickers of Cuomo’s face that can be put on a window to make it look like the gov is peering in, just to make sure not too many people are holed up inside, celebrating the holiday with loved ones. That “who’s naughty and who’s nice” thing.
The sticker is a clear and hilarious way of ripping Cuomo for his latest edict. “Great for all gatherings, sure to get laughs, great for your business or your home!” reads the promo about the $10 sticker — an image of half of Cuomo’s face — on their website.

Dude. I want one. And I don’t even live in New York.
Anyway, let’s revisit that Emmy for a minute. I actually — I’m not kidding — laughed out loud when I first saw this story. It might be on par with Chicago Jesus Barack Obama, who, just eight months into his first term, won a Nobel Peace Prize, an award even Obama himself suggested he had not earned, but it’s close.
Here’s how Hollywood reporter Alex Weprin described Cuomo’s Emmy.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo will receive an international Emmy award, “in recognition of his leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and his masterful use of television to inform and calm people around the world.”

Weprin also tweeted a syrupy quote about Cuomo from the academy’s president, along with a bit of pablum describing the governor as an individual “who crosses cultural boundaries to touch our common humanity.” Oh, please.
“The governor’s 111 daily briefings worked so well because he effectively created television shows with characters, plot lines, and stories of stories of success and failure. People around the world tuned in to find out what was going on, and New York tough became a determination to fight back.”
This is quintessential liberal symbolism-over-substance nonsense.
So what? TV show with cute little plots and characters and stuff, all while New York was in the process of becoming the COVID epicenter of America. To paraphrase Hillary, what difference did Cuomo’s self-promoting TV appearances have, while elderly people were dying in nursing homes by the thousands — due to his own orders?
And check it out; Cuomo is now in the same rarified company as fellow visionaries Al “Polar Ice Caps” Gore, Oprah “Your Whiteness Gives You Privilege” Winfrey, and uber-left-winger Stephen Spielberg.

Here’s lookin’ at you, New Yorkers! And do have a nice Thanksgiving dinner, won’t you? Oh, and please give my regards to your governor if when he stops by.
