In yet another glaring example that today’s Democrat Party is not the same Democrat Party of not all that long ago, Joe Biden pledged on Friday to sign the so-called “Equality Act” — a bill that would force public schools to allow biological boys who identify as transgender girls to compete in girls’ sports. Let’s just let that sink in for a moment.

As the Daily Caller reported, the Equality Act passed the House with unanimous support from Democrats in May 2019 but didn’t come up for a vote in the Republican-controlled Senate. This is yet another example of what will happen to this country if Biden wins the White House and the Democrats regain control of the Senate.

In a statement released by the Biden campaign on Friday, the Democrat standard-bearer condemned what he called an “epidemic” of violence “against transgender and gender non-conforming people.”

In all-caps — no doubt for dramatic effect — the headline of the statement reads: “VIOLENCE AGAINST TRANSGENDER AND GENDER NON-CONFORMING PEOPLE — STATEMENT BY VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN.”

And here’s Joe, America.

“My administration will enact the Equality Act to end legal discrimination against LGBTQ+ people, expand economic opportunities for LGBTQ+ people, reform our treatment of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in our criminal justice system, ensure access to accurate identification documents, and improve government data collection to better track violence against the transgender community.”

You ever get the feeling that phrases like “end legal discrimination,” “expand economic opportunities,” and “reform our treatment,” are little more than hollow meaningless words strung together by Democrats to make grandiose promises to whomever they feel a need to exploit? Me too.

Anyway, Biden added — in a silly play on the Black Lives Matter thing:

“I believe that Trans Lives Matter and, as president, I will fight on behalf of every vulnerable person in this country.”

Speaking of “every vulnerable person in this country,” one of the questioners at Biden’s Thursday schmoozefest town hall on ABC was the mother of an 8-year-old girl. An 8-year-old girl her mom told Biden is transgender:

“I’m the proud mom of two girls, 8 and 10. My youngest daughter is transgender. The Trump administration has attacked the rights of transgender people, banning them from military service, weakening nondiscriminatory protections, and even removing the word ‘transgender’ from some government websites.”

This is insane on multiple levels, of course — but we’ll get to that part in a bit. The mother asked Biden:

“How will you as president reverse this dangerous and discriminatory agenda and ensure that the lives and rights of LGBTQ people are protected under U.S. law?”

Unemotionally and without missing a beat, Biden replied: “I would flat-out just change the law, eliminate those executive orders, number one.”

Then, unbelievably, this:

“The idea that an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides, ‘I decided I want to be transgender. That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier’ — there should be zero discrimination.”

Raise your hand if you thought he would say something to the effect of  “The idea that an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides he or she wants to be transgender is something that should involve careful consideration.”

But he didn’t.

This is who this guy is, America. It is also who pretend “pragmatic-moderate” Democrat vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris is, as is the entirety of the Democrat Party.

The notion that an 8-year-old child should be allowed the final decision as to what gender he or she is — and should be for the rest of his or her life — is insane.

Having raised a couple of kids, I can authoritatively say — as can any sane parent — young children change their minds about everything. Every 10 minutes. Or less.

Again, this is what this party has become.

Even worse, once-moderate Democrats — Biden is just one example — have allowed themselves to be dragged further and further to the far-left for one reason and one reason only.

Democrats must knit together a patchwork of disparate groups — by any means possible — if they are to remain a viable political party in America. They must pander to, exploit, and make hollow promise after hollow promises to Blacks, members of the LGBTQ community, legal and illegal immigrants, (non-conservative) women, and anyone else they deem susceptible to their schtick.

And when that exploitation is reduced to telling the mother of an 8-year-old girl who, for the next 10 minutes, thinks she’s a boy, there should be “zero discrimination” against that little girl?

This is what we face. We cannot let it happen.
