Former First Lady Michelle Obama delivered the closing speech of the Democrat National Convention on Monday, predictably teeing off on Donald Trump throughout her condescending denunciation of his presidency.
Mrs. Obama ripped Trump “bigly,” declaring him “the wrong president for our country.”
“Let me be as honest and clear as I possibly can. Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. “He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment. He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is.
“Whenever we look to this White House for some leadership or consultation or any semblance of steadiness, what we get instead is chaos, division and a total and utter lack of empathy.”
Setting aside the reality that Barack Obama was arguably the most racially-divisive president — on purpose — since at least the Civil Rights movement of the early 1960s, Michelle Obama’s speech got worse as it went, including the following melodramatic warning — melodramatic warnings are a Democrat thing, you know.
“If you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can, and they will if we don’t make a change in this election. If we have any hope of ending this chaos, we have got to vote for Joe Biden like our lives depend on it. I know Joe. He is a profoundly decent man guided by faith.”
One of my favorite hypocritical moments — there were many — was this laugh-out-loud gem.
“The ability to walk in someone else’s shoes. The recognition that someone else’s experience has values, too. Most of us practice this without a second thought.”
Are you kidding me?
How well does the Democrat Party “walk in the shoes” of black conservatives? How about conservative gays and women? Please.
The reality is this:
Blacks, by virtue of the color of their skin, are pre-ordained to live on the liberal plantation — as are gays, women, and everyone else Democrats deem should be liberal, by nature of their very existence.
Michelle Obama: "Right now, kids in this country are seeing what happens when we stop requiring empathy of one another. They're looking around wondering if we've been lying to them this whole time about who we are and what we truly value." https://t.co/rZszrWoObu #DemConvention pic.twitter.com/1GSwZ0zUPj

As my RedState colleague Nick Arama reported earlier today, Obama “told such big whoppers in her DNC speech, even the AP had to call her out on at least one” of them.
So that was last night. Which was followed by this morning. And as to be expected, a response from “the wrong president for our country.”
Trump began with a couple of tweets explaining to the former First Lady why be became president in the first place, along with a short recap of his first almost four years.
Somebody please explain to @MichelleObama that Donald J. Trump would not be here, in the beautiful White House, if it weren’t for the job done by your husband, Barack Obama. Biden was merely an afterthought, a good reason for that very late & unenthusiastic endorsement…..

….My Administration and I built the greatest economy in history, of any country, turned it off, saved millions of lives, and now am building an even greater economy than it was before. Jobs are flowing, NASDAQ is already at a record high, the rest to follow. Sit back & watch!

But then, as he’s wont to do, Trump was off to the races.
Looking back into history, the response by the ObamaBiden team to the H1N1 Swine Flu was considered a weak and pathetic one. Check out the polling, it’s really bad. The big difference is that they got a free pass from the Corrupt Fake News Media!

The ObamaBiden Administration was the most corrupt in history, including the fact that they got caught SPYING ON MY CAMPAIGN, the biggest political scandal in the history of our Country. It’s called Treason, and more. Thanks for your very kind words Michelle!

More than four hours later, Trump came back with on more shot.
People forget how divided our Country was under ObamaBiden. The anger and hatred were unbelievable. They shouldn’t be lecturing to us. I’m here, as your President, because of them!

It’s game on, America. The remaining 77 days of the 2020 presidential campaign are going to make the 2016 battle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton look like a walk in the park. “That I can tell you.”
Popcorn. We need lots of popcorn.
