Vladimir Putin is upset. During the pre- Super Bowl interview with Donald Trump, Bill O’Reilly called the Russian President a “killer”, and now Putin wants an apology.
“We consider such words from the Fox TV company to be unacceptable and insulting,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call, according to Reuters.
“And honestly speaking, we would prefer to get an apology from such a respected TV company.”
Trump was attempting to explain his relationship with Putin, suggesting it’s good policy to be cordial with Russia, when O’Reilly blurted out the insult.
“Will I get along with him? I have no idea,” Trump said during the interview.
“But he’s a killer, though. Putin’s a killer,” O’Reilly responded.
To be fair to O’Reilly maybe he just likes the word “kill”, he uses it in all of his book titles. No word from Fox News on whether they will issue the requested apology.
