Earlier Robert F Kennedy Jr released a statement about being offered the opportunity to chair a commission on autism and vaccines. The appointment of an anti-vaxxer to such a role would, without question, would be terrible. Now, however, Hope Hicks from Trump’s transition team disputing the widely reported news.

“No decisions have been made.” This is no denial of Kennedy’s position as valid, and the fact that they even spoke with him on this topic is bad news.

If he doesn’t chair it, it’s a relief. Whether this is a backpedal based on backlash is not yet known. It would be no surprise to see Trump change his mind when people start viewing him as a conspiracy theorist, would it?
