Terrorism is the only issue on which Trump leads Hillary Clinton with the American people, so his campaign might have hoped that the Orlando attack would help stem the tide of horrible polls. It turns out, Trump’s response to Orlando rubbed almost all of America the wrong way:
A majority of Americans surveyed in a CBS News poll out Wednesday say they disapprove of the way Donald Trump is responding to the terrorist shooting at a gay nightclub Sunday in Orlando, Florida.
In the wake of the deadliest shooting in American history as well as the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11, 51 percent said they did not like the way Trump has been handling the situation, compared with 25 percent who said they approve and 24 percent who said they do not know or did not give an answer.
Mathematically, what this means is that even some portion of the small and ever-shrinking portion of the United States who has a favorable opinion of Trump does not approve of the way he has reacted to the Orlando shooting. That is bad. What is worse is that America approves of the way Clinton and Obama have responded to Orlando.
Well, maybe “approves” is too strong of a word, but “doesn’t hate” is accurate, at least. They hate it wayyyyy less than they hate Trump’s response, definitely:

These numbers are absolute and total electoral death for a candidate who absolutely must win the security-first vote to have even a snowball’s chance in hell of winning in November.
