Easter Gathering of Pakistani Christians Bombed; Religion of Peace Definitely NOT Responsible

A suicide bomber has detonated a bomb in a park in Pakistan where Christians are known to congregate on Easter morning, killing at least 50 people on Easter morning and injuring dozens more. Thus far no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the bombing. Per the BBC:

It happened in the early evening when the park was crowded with families.

Police told the BBC it appeared to be a suicide bomb. No group has said it was behind the blast.

There is speculation that Christian families out for the Easter weekend may have been the target, says the BBC’s Shaimaa Khalil, in Lahore.

Rest assured, though: when and if President Obama deigns to acknowledge this event, it will be to lecture us all on the dangers of Islamophobia. He will patiently explain to us that it isn’t fair to judge the Muslim religion for the violent religious intolerance of its adherents, just the same way as Muslims should not judge all the Christians and Jews who set off suicide bombs inside mosques on Muslim holy days.

Oh wait, that last part does not happen. Still, though, it’s important to not blame the Religion of Peace, just because its adherents seem to be the only ones who engage in this kind of religiously-motivated carnage in this day and age. Wouldn’t be proper.
