Conservative commentator Candace Owens has had her Twitter account suspended after posting a tweet criticizing Michigan’s Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, for her draconian response to coronavirus in her state.

Owens suggested Whitmer sees herself as a socialist dictator and encouraged Michiganders to stand up to their Governor.

“Open your businesses. Go to work. The police thinks she’s crazy too. They are not going to arrest 10,000,000 people for going to work.”

Owens made an appeal but it is as yet unclear if her account was suspended because of other Twitter users reporting the tweet or if she violated Twitter’s ever-changing terms of use. The former TPUSA superstar currently has 2.2 million followers and has been steadily criticizing the governmental responses to the coronavirus.

#FreeCandace began trending on Twitter on Saturday as fans appealed for the return of her account privileges.
