California voting shenanigans are unsurprising to anyone who is paying a modicum of attention to the not-so-Golden State these days.

On Super Tuesday there have already been reports of irregularities and issues, with 15 counties reporting problems accessing state voter records for verification purposes. The only thing to do was issue provisional ballots and then verify them at a later date. Tuesday also happens to be the first time voters can register to vote at the polls in the state of California.

Sounds like a recipe for chaos, doesn’t it?

California voters also have to deal with a nearly 2 week long early voter process that is ripe for fraud. Mail-in ballots have until March 8 to arrive and ballot harvesting is a legal process by which canvassers go door-to-door collecting ballots from people who haven’t voted. In some cases they will “help” a voter fill out the ballot and then they take the ballot back to the ballot box for the voter…very helpfully.

That chaos recipe has a lot of ingredients.

A voter in the Los Angeles enclave of Culver City contacted me privately today to tell me she was at her polling place this morning and it was pure chaos. She claimed about half the machines were not turned on despite a line out the door and around the block. The machines weren’t broken, just turned off. Not only that, voters were taking photos while in the voting booths with no intervention from poll workers and then they had a selfie station right there in the voting hall where people could snap pictures touting their votes…directly next to voting machines.

She originally contacted me to ask if taking pictures in the booth was legal. It descended from there. I’ll copy and paste part of her communication here. It must be seen to be believed (she’s given me permission to use her texts anonymously).

Dude filming exit interviews 20 feet from entrance

Half the machines aren’t even being used, hour long line

96 voting machines at Culver Veterans Auditorium. 48 of which weren’t even turned on (not broken, just off, I asked). Of the other 48 about 6 were out of order. Line around the block, about an hour to get in and vote.

Not only the above mentioned crap, but folks freely discussing candidates in line -and my favorite part- the poll worker checking me in asked how long the line was, when I told him he started telling me it was because everyone was waiting to see who dropped out before voting.When I suggested that it was not appropriate to have this kind of conversation in a polling place, he told me “ it’s fine as long as we don’t use any names”. 😕

He then proceeds to berate me/us for waiting until today to vote.

“Sir, we are entitled to vote on voting day if we wish”

And to add hilarious insult to pathetic injury, the California Secretary of State website is offline so no voter info or verification is even possible. If you have a question about voting or legalities you can’t go there to find the answers. Not as of publication of this article, anyway.

Is there such a thing as nullifying a state election? Because really…we should just nullify this entire election. This is ridiculous.
