Professors: We Can't Handle Differing Opinions On Climate Change!

All across the country this semester, university students will be exposed to wonderful discussions that will test their preconceived notions. Professors will facilitate those discussions, and classrooms will be flower beds of learning, growth, and enlightenment.

I’m just kidding.

It’s 2016, and “higher” education is all about dedicating safe spaces to the ill-equipped at life and announcing that Harambe jokes are racist microaggressions. So while attempts to crush diversity of thought are frustrating, they are in no way surprising.

The latest takes place at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. As reported by Accuracy in Academia:

Three professors co-teaching an online course called “Medical Humanities in the Digital Age” at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs recently told their students via email that man-made climate change is not open for debate, and those who think otherwise have no place in their course…

Signed by the course’s professors Rebecca Laroche, Wendy Haggren and Eileen Skahill, it was sent after several students expressed concern for their success in the course after watching the first online lecture about the impacts of climate change.

“… If you believe this premise to be an issue for you, we respectfully ask that you do not take this course, as there are options within the Humanities program for face to face this semester and online next.”

Debate about a subject matter taught in class? Bad! It’s so bad, in fact, that they ask students to drop the course.

It’s so telling that the side which supposedly prizes “diversity” and “open-mindedness” is glaringly incapable of anything that resembles discussion. This is because liberal academics are interested in one thing: indoctrination. The goal is to churn out more robotic kids with their tunnel vision and talking points.

Furthermore, if these professors, and others like them, were so solidly convinced of their own rightness, they wouldn’t shy away from talking about any issue. If the facts are on your side, there is no reason to be afraid to enter the fray. But the ground they stand on is as shaky as a melting ice cap, as Brandon Morse pointed out here.

Science is scary to “open-minded” liberals. They reject it when it comes to discussing the building blocks of life which factually condemn abortion and trangenderism. They do the same when it comes to climate change. However, students in their class, and those of us outside the academic bubble, are commanded not to speak.
