It’s no surprise that women don’t like Trump. The past few weeks have shown his campaign’s disregard for women with its response to employed thug Lewandowski’s behavior, and recently, Trump’s own statements on punishing women who have abortions.

According to a new Gallup poll released Friday:

…Trump’s image among U.S. women tilts strongly negative, with 70% of women holding an unfavorable opinion and 23% a favorable opinion of the Republican front-runner in March. Trump’s unfavorable rating among women has been high since Gallup began tracking it last July, but after rising slightly last fall, it has increased even further since January.

The Trump train of ridiculous, insulting, juvenile behavior has helped to increase that dislike since the beginning of the year. Gallup reports that in July 2015, 29% of women held a favorable view of him, while 58% did not. As you can see above, the gap between those views has increased even more.

Trump’s “woman problem” has come into sharper focus this week with his latest high-visibility comments about women and abortion. It is too early to measure what effect those comments may be having on his image. But even before these remarks, fewer than one in four women viewed him favorably, suggesting he may already be down to a core of rock-hard supporters whose opinions aren’t likely to change.

It’s difficult to say how this may affect Trump if he were in a general election battle against Hillary, who is also struggling somewhat with favorable ratings among women. Although she is the only female in the race, she is not collecting support from her own kind as much as she would like, which is also not a surprise.

Personally, I don’t see women as a whole changing their mind about Trump whose behavior has only worsened his standing among them. It will definitely be on our minds come election time.
