New details have emerged about the thwarted attack on a Catholic church in Washington, D.C., with the person arrested being found with an arsenal of explosives along with a leftist manifesto attacking members of the church and the Supreme Court.
My RedState colleague Ward Clark reported that a man was arrested on Sunday, October 5, outside St. Matthew Cathedral ahead of the Red Mass, which is typically attended by justices, marking the start of the Supreme Court's term. The person was reportedly "in possession of what appeared to be fireworks and vials of liquids."

The report on Sunday read:
Officers were assigned at the cathedral early Sunday morning for Red Mass, which marks the start of the Supreme Court's annual term and is offered to members of judges, lawyers and anyone working in a legal profession.
At 6 a.m., police officers saw 41-year-old Louis Geri of Arizona and New Jersey, who set up a tent on the steps of the cathedral. Geri was previously prohibited from the cathedral's premises, police said.
Geri refused to leave and was arrested by the police. Officers said they found multiple suspicious items inside of Geri's tent, including vials of liquid and possible fireworks.
D.C. police's Explosive Ordinance Disposal team and the Arson Task Force searched Geri's belongings at the cathedral. Police say the scene has been secured and there is no threat to the public. The front entrance to the cathedral and the 1700 block of Rhode Island Avenue in Northwest D.C. remain closed as the investigation continues.
Documents in the case now show exactly how armed the suspect, Geri, was for the alleged attack.

The Daily Wire reported about the police and Geri's encounter on the steps of the church.
He told police, "You might want to stay back and call the federales, I have explosives," according to an affidavit.
A member of the Metropolitan Police Department's Bomb Squad then told him he needed to move because of a special event. He replied, "I'm aware of that (referring to the Red Mass)," police wrote, and threatened to throw a bomb into the street as a demonstration, adding, "I have a hundred plus of them."
Police said they would remove him against his will, and he replied, "Several of your people are gonna die from one of these." With a lighter in one hand, he handed them nine pieces of paper that amounted to a manifesto entitled, "Written Negotiations for the Avoidance of Destruction of Property via Detonation of Explosives."
The report went on to describe the manifesto:
The manifesto "revealed his significant animosity towards the Catholic church, members of the Jewish faith, members of SCOTUS and ICE/ ICE facilities," police wrote, indicating that the incident may be the latest in a string of left-wing domestic terrorism.
Geri "then shifted his right thumb over top of the butane lighter to initiate the lighting action and stated, 'You better have these people step away or there's going to be deaths.'"
Following his arrest, the bomb squad found "a large cache of handmade destructive devices" in the tent, police said, per The Daily Wire.
On Monday, an additional affidavit from the bomb technician was filed by the police about the explosives.
The report read:
"There were over 200 devices recovered from D-1's tent. There was a strong smell of acetone emitting from some of the vials. Some of the liquid was determined to be Nitro Methane. The liquid appeared to be multiple chemicals mixed together, none in original containers … the devices appeared to be fully functional."
Geri has since been charged with several counts, including Possession or Transportation of Molotov Cocktails, or other Explosives for Unlawful purposes, Threats to Kidnap or Injure a person, Possession of Destructive Device, Manufacture or Possession of Weapon of Mass Destruction (Hate Crime), and Resisting Arrest.
Sure sounds like the police prevented what would've become the latest violent attack coming from the radical left.
