Townhall and CNN commentator Scott Jennings nailed Americans' flip to President Donald Trump after being a critic himself, making clear that it's because Democrats actively root for the country's failure that he became a fan.
During his appearance on Tuesday on the "PBD" podcast, one of the hosts, Patrick Bet-David, asked Jennings when he flipped to support the president after being very critical of Trump in the past.

"But like everybody else. I didn't get it. I freely admit I did not get it," Jennings said. "I did not understand it. I did not get how this guy, who had not been a Republican, was coming along to take over the Republican Party. "
"And so over time, I began to realize what he was doing," he added. "And I also began to realize the choice. And in 2024, for me … plus his opposition, the reflexive nature of his opposition to hate and try to delegitimize him on everything he does, I think it's terrible for America. I mean they [Democrats] are rooting against America."
"On Iran, when we bombed the missile sites, what's the first thing that happened [Democrats said] 'We got to impeach him,'" Jennings continued. "The immediate delegitimization of this guy every time he does something, they root for America's failure …no, politician, I'm a 100 percent all the time. But I tell ya this, I like it that he roots for America, and I hate it that they root against America just because he did it."
At one point, Jennings was asked about the Democrats' 35-year low approval rating in the recent Wall Street Journal poll and explained that they did this to themselves by lying to the American people.

"Democrats, because of [former President Joe] Biden's presidency, because they lied about Joe Biden's condition," Jennings said. "Because they lied to the country about the inflationary impacts of his policies, have dug themselves the deepest hole they've ever been in the history of their party."
"That's number 1. Number 2," he added, pointing to the "cultural radicalism" embraced by the Democrats. "When the hills you're willing to die on are boys in girls' sports, paying for transgender surgeries of inmates …When you are willing to go and say 'Maryland man unfairly deported back to his home country.' I mean. When you are willing to die on all these 80-20 hills, eventually your approval rating will wind up … around 20."

"And so this hole they've dug themselves in," Jennings continued. "If I can't trust you not to put a boy in my daughter's locker room, why would I talk to you about taxation policy or inflation? Or tariffs or anything else? You're trying to put a boy in my girl's locker room. Why?"
And the results of the 2024 election prove that the transgender issue was an 80-20 issue for Republicans and Trump, and another reason Democrats lost the White House, though there were many others.
