Judge Jeanine Pirro gave an incredible acceptance speech about fighting for justice after she was officially sworn in as the new interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.

Speaking from a podium on Wednesday in the Oval Office, Pirro made it crystal clear that she will show "no mercy for criminals," will be a voice for victims of violent crimes, and vowed that justice would be served following the murder of the two Israeli Embassy staffers in the capital on May 21.

"Long ago, I went to law school to study about justice and to bring justice to victims of violent crimes," the new interim U.S. Attorney said. "Women, children, and the elderly. I fought to give them a voice in a system that was both blind and deaf to their concerns. I dedicated my heart and soul to making sure that there was a system that responded to them…"

"Through all of this, President [Donald] Trump, you have remained as steadfast as one of my earliest supporters and champions," she added. "You never wavered. You were always steadfast, trustworthy, and confident. Today, Mr. President, you bring me back to my roots. And it is a larger arena, but no less an arena, where we need justice. Where we need to send a message that justice will be honored in the District of Columbia."

"My voice should be heard loud and clear. No more. No more tolerance of hatred," Pirro continued. "No more mercy for criminals. Violence will be addressed directly with the appropriate punishment, and this city will again become a shining city on a hill in an America that President Trump has promised to make great again and will make safe again. Mr. President, America thanks you, and I thank you."

Earlier this month, President Trump announced his plans to appoint the judge to the open seat in a post on Truth Social that read:

I am pleased to announce that Judge Jeanine Pirro will be appointed interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. Jeanine was Assistant District Attorney for Westchester County, New York, and then went on to serve as County Judge, and District Attorney, where she was the first woman ever to be elected to those positions. During her time in office, Jeanine was a powerful crusader for victims of crime. Her establishment of the Domestic Violence Bureau in her Prosecutor's Office was the first in the Nation. She excelled in all ways. In addition to her Legal career, Jeanine previously hosted her own Fox News Show, Justice with Judge Jeanine, for ten years, and is currently Co-Host of The Five, one of the Highest Rated Shows on Television. Jeanine is incredibly well qualified for this position, and is considered one of the Top District Attorneys in the History of the State of New York. She is in a class by herself. Congratulations Jeanine!

Despite only being on the job for a short time, Pirro already proved she means business in her new role when she spoke to the media following the fatal shooting of the Israeli embassy staffers and soon-to-be engaged couple, RedState reported.

Pirro talked about the unimaginable crime against the young couple and said:

We will hold accountable anyone who inflicts harm on our families, our neighbors, the citizens of our Nation, or the visitors to our great capital city. We are united in that purpose, and we hold strong against those whose reckless actions claim as victim any part of our community.
