In a post on social media, the 79-year-old legendary singer shared that all scheduled concert dates in the U.S. and U.K. from 2025 through June 2026 are canceled because his disorder has been "exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance." Refunds will be issued automatically.

"Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period," the statement read. "Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health."

"He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage," it added.

At the end of the statement, Joel said to fans, "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding."

According to the Cleveland Health Clinic:

The disorder happens when cerebrospinal fluid builds up inside the skull and presses on the brain, and usually occurs in people over 65.

In February, the five-time Grammy winner fell during one of his concerts. A fan caught the terrifying moment on video. The superstar singer did manage to get back up and finish the show.

However, he later canceled several dates in March because of an unknown "medical condition."

"The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors," a statement in March from his team read.

At the time, the "Piano Man" hitmaker wrote, "While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding."

The "Uptown" hitmaker is the focus of an upcoming HBO two-part documentary, "Billy Joel: And So It Goes." It will premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, set to open June 4.

The Warner Bros project is described as:

An expansive portrait of the life and music of Billy Joel, exploring the love, loss, and personal struggles that fuel his songwriting. With unprecedented access to never-before-seen performances, home movies, and personal photographs, along with extensive, in-depth one-on-one interviews, the documentary intimately explores the life and work of Joel, whose music has endured across generations.

Emmy-winning director Susan Lacy said of the documentary that if you think you know Joel's story, think again.

“For those who think they know Joel’s story, as well as those who are not as familiar, I believe this two-part film is both a revelation and a surprise," Lacy's quote read. "I was drawn to his story as someone who knew little at the outset, and was astounded at how autobiographical his songs are and how complex his story is. We are gratified that Bill trusted us with his story, which we have told as honestly as possible, diving into territory which has not been explored before.”
