Trump Derangement Syndrome Becoming A Bonafide Mental Health Problem ?
And is this specific to Trump or just the fact that a large part of our society is no longer of sound mind ?
In Nevada a tenured college professor shoots himself to protest the president
A longtime College of Southern Nevada sociology professor is facing felony gun charges in connection with an on-campus shooting on the second day of classes.
Mark J. Bird, 69, was charged last month with discharging a gun within a prohibited structure, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and possessing a dangerous weapon on school property, court records show. He was found bleeding from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his arm about 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 28 outside a bathroom in the Charleston campus K building.
Inside the bathroom, campus police found a $100 bill taped to a mirror along with a note that said, “For the janitor,” according to Bird’s arrest report. On the floor of the restroom was a black-and-white, .22-caliber pistol and one spent shell casing.
One college employee told police that he held Bird’s hand to calm him down as others tried to stop the bleeding. While waiting for authorities to arrive, Bird said he had shot himself in protest of President Donald Trump, police noted in their report. The report did not elaborate

In Wyoming a GOP campaign office was set on fire Arson likely cause
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say a fire was started at a Republican Party office in southeastern Wyoming and that it is being investigated as arson.
The fire early Thursday morning at the Albany County Republican Party headquarters in downtown Laramie caused minor damage and no injuries.
The fire was reported about 3:25 a.m. in the first-floor office. Steven Morgan of the Laramie Police Department says it’s being investigated as arson and agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting because of the possibility of a political motive.

In earlier days I would have said these are outliers, we have a large country with over 300 million people, that encourages individualism and strong defense of what is right. That’s not true anymore, these are just the latest and some of the more insane examples of what has been an ongoing trend. Breitbart has a compilation of 564 attacks/ threats against Republicans since 2016

That’s nine in this month alone. What’s more the severity and number seem to be increasing, while the media does nothing to condemn / shame or otherwise discourage these attacks. The inescapable conclusion is that the left has decided that violence is now acceptable to achieve what they can’t achieve by the ballot box. That on it’s own wouldn’t be evidence of insanity, but the cause of it is. By any measure Trump’s policies have resulted in net material benefit for everyone in the country. Jobs and the business climate are the best they have been in half a century, we have moved away from war and the threat of war, all the while the left has become ever more invested in having the president fail, despite the fact this would harm them. If that isn’t the definition of insanity I don’t know what is.
Drink up That’s it for the Watercooler today. As always it’s an open thread
