This Week Has Been One For The Books And It Isn’t Even Over yet

The apple carts are all overturned, the mighty laid low and the lowly elevated, it’s either the end of the world or its salvation. At least that’s what those in the hyperbole business would have you believe. For those of us that get away from our computers and constant information feeds, it’s still a beautiful fall, the sun is still rising and the holidays will soon be here to spend with loved ones. In short for those of us not directly connected to the Clintons or the Trumps life goes on, and it’s a perfect time to appreciate it.

For those that are directly involved with the outcome of the election, things are a little different.

LOSERS

Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, And The Entire Clinton Crime Family:  What more to be said ? No third term for Bill. They have had their last bite at corruption in DC. There will be no patron greasing the lower ranks into positions in the executive. For all the loyal soldier already in DC there will be no payoff. Definitely this weeks yuuge biggly losers.

The Dmeocratic Party: After Tuesday’s election, The GOP controls The House, The Senate, The Presidency, and a significant majority of the state governments. If that wasn’t bad enough choosing to put all their eggs in the Clinton basket is leaving them adrift with no path forward. They have no young up and comers, Biden ( Ok I am laughing), Warren (laughing harder), this would have been their last shot. O’Malley ?  don’t know if he was as bad as he seemed or just picked  up on the fact he wasn’t going to be allowed to win really quickly. Speaking of not being allowed to win, they have burned all the Bernie bros, who like Terry Malloy in “On The Waterfront” got told “this isn’t their night and take the dive in the 5th”. I’d wish them good luck in putting themselves together but since I am certain they are inimical to the country I will not.

Election Projections: This year the high, drunken and downright crazy pollster has been out in force like a monomaniacal stalker. They couldn’t get the primaries right, the couldn’t even come close on the general. Of the projections the Huffington Post was the worst of the lot calling a 2% chance of a Trump win. Frank Luntz went out on a limb and declared Clinton the next president early.  “In case I wasn’t clear enough from my previous tweets: Hillary Clinton will be the next President of the United States”. I’d like to give FiveThirtyEight best marks for calling it 22% chance but their live prediction didn’t give Trump the upper hand till far past  a blind bat could see the issue had been decided.  Pro Tip to the HuffPo ideology does not replace statistical science. If you are going to propagandize for the “Reality Based Community” you could make an effort to familiarize yourself with techniques.
While giving advice, Mr. Silver could stand to learn that statistical analysis is never any good unless you have a correct understanding of what you are trying to model.

The Lame Stream Media: Broadcast News programs, Cable News channels, all got destroyed. They were all propaganda all the time this election. Not only did they go all in for their candidates, in Hillary’s case thanks to Wikileaks we got to see them actively coordinating  with her campaign. In the end despite all the money funneled into them and the lengths they were willing to go to, they were unable to deliver the goods. It’s one thing to be creeps without integrity but now they are incompetent creeps without integrity.

Planned Parenthood Or The GOP That Makes Excuses For It: Well we have the house, the senate, and the presidency. If the GOP can’t defund Planned Parenthood they can forget coming to the well for donations from the Pro Life crowd anymore.  Waiting to see how this one plays out.

Winners:

Donald Trump: There is no doubt that at least in the short term he is the biggly yuugely winner. He did what few if any of the cognoscenti thought possible and won the presidency despite himself. What’s more he did this with the highest unfavorability rating ever recorded in polling history. Longer Term he may suffer financial backlash. He will have to find someway to eliminate the conflict of interest between his political position and his business empire. Speaking of which there is already a backlash against his brand, prompting a rebranding.

The GOP: Make no mistake Trump risked taking down the party. His negatives are historic in magnitude. He ran against our party and our party’s  establishment as much as he did Hillary. It looked like he was going to wreck the party. Instead the GOP retained control of the legislative branch of government and nominally has a Republican president as well. What’s more there is no damage to the hated GOPe. It’s a win for them for now. Trump is still horribly unqualified and a loose cannon. Only time will tell how this works out.

The Trumpkins AKA The Silent Majority AKA The Mad As Hell And Not Going To Take It Any Longer: They felt they were written off , condescended to, made the but of jokes and generally given the brown end of the stick. Well Tuesday they proved they are here, they can make themselves heard in very painful ways and the rest of the country needs to get used to listening to them or deal with the consequences.  Only time is going to tell if this “victory” leaves ashes in their mouths or not.

Wikileaks, Project Veritas: Project Veritas showed us all the investigative journalism doesn’t have to be dead, buried and forgotten. O’Keefe and his crew shown a light on the corruption of the Democratic party for all to see and we are better as a nation for it. Wikileaks did the same, and what’s more played a significant role in taking Hillary down. Pretty nice for Mr. Assange since Hillary was speculating on killing him with a drone.

The Crazies:

Out they came after the results came in. We had protestors, rioters, people who needed therapy and those that went suicidal after the election.

The Rioters: It’s one thing to protest but a protest that is destroying property and getting people injured is a riot.

In Oakland, more than 100 protesters took to downtown streets. KNTV-TV reported that protesters burned Trump in effigy, smashed windows of the Oakland Tribune newsroom and set tires and trash on fire. The California Highway Patrol says a woman was struck by a car during the protest and severely injured.

Gotten used to this from the left over the years. Only real question was the riot a freebie or paid

The Clueless: There’s nothing more certain to get you hate from the American people than either burning an American flag or waving a foreign countries flag while protesting a democratically made decision.  It’s up there with water being wet or running downhill but still lefties never pick up on it. Probably a good thing as it does a great job discrediting their positions for most people.

The shock has triggered the progressives in the usual areas to hold protests and in some cases, setting American flags on fire. It launched a trending hashtag on Twitter–#NotMyPresident—which served as yet another areas for liberals to mourn the loss of Clinton. Oh, and by usual places, I mean, California (via LA Times):

At Berkeley High School, about 1,500 students — half the entire student body — walked out of class after first period began at 8 a.m., Berkeley Unified School District officials said.

Students tweeted “#NotMyPresident” and pledged to unify. Others chanted, “Si, se puede,” Spanish for “Yes, we can,” and waved Mexican flags, according to posts on social media.

The Special Snowflakes:

You have to wonder if being the most breakable human being possible is a competition sport on university campuses these days.

UC Davis and Sacramento State are offering counseling services to students distraught over Republican Donald Trump’s surprise presidential win Tuesday.

“We have heard from a number of individuals in our campus community who are concerned about the results of yesterday’s U.S. election and potential outcomes,” stated an email message sent to UC Davis students Wednesday morning.

Counselors were available at multiple locations on the UC Davis campus Wednesday, according to the message from interim Chancellor Ralph Hexter and Vice Chancellor Adela de la Torre.

They encouraged students to take advantage of walk-in urgent care mental health services in the Student Health and Wellness Center or to call the campus advice nurse. Walk-in support and “healing spaces” were available at the Undocumented Student Center, Cross Cultural Center, Women’s Research and Resources Center and the Center for African Diaspora Student Success, as well as at resource centers for the LGBTQ, Latino and Native American communities.

No wonder health care is so costly, you have to subsidize people that need therapy from election results.

Quote of the Day

Leadership can not be measured in a poll or even in the result of an election. It can only be truly seen with the benefit of time. From the perspective of 20 years, not 20 days.
