This is backed up by reporting from  CNN on the attitude of Republican congressmen.

Several Republican congressmen have been asked this week about a potential Clinton impeachment if she were indicted as a result of an FBI investigation into her emails; all of them warned of a “constitutional crisis” if Clinton were to be elected.

Wisconsin Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner told conservative radio host Charlie Sykes Tuesday that there would be a “constitutional crisis” if Clinton was indicted, and when asked about impeachment, answered, “I think that is something that is speculative in nature. I’m speculating, what I can say is that I think Richard Nixon would have been indicted and he would have been impeached. He stopped the impeachment by resigning as a result of Watergate and he stopped the indictment by President Ford pardoning him.”
New York Rep. Peter King offered a similar response when speaking on Long Island local radio Tuesday morning.
“There’s been nothing like this where you can have potential criminal charges,” King said on “L.I. in the AM.” Asked about impeachment, King responded investigations could drag on into Clinton’s term as president. “You really could have a constitutional crisis here,” King said.

It’s pretty tough talk from some very important people in congress. We have been here before though, it’s safe to say Hillary will not have the good grace to resign so the question is will the Congress and the Senate actually follow through on this ? and how bad will the aftermath be for the country.

Speaking Of That Indictment

Fox News is reporting that sources with intimate knowledge of the Clinton Foundation investigation are saying that it is in high gear and indictment is likely.

BRET BAIER: Breaking news tonight — two separate sources with intimate knowledge of the FBI investigations into the Clinton emails and the Clinton Foundation tell Fox the following:

The investigation looking into possible pay-for-play interaction between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Foundation has been going on for more than a year. Led by the white collar crime division, public corruption branch of the criminal investigative division of the FBI.

The Clinton Foundation investigation is a, quote, “very high priority.” Agents have interviewed and reinterviewed multiple people about the Foundation case, and even before the WikiLeaks dumps, agents say they have collected a great deal of evidence. Pressed on that, one sources said, quote, “a lot of it,” and “there is an avalanche of new information coming every day.”

Some of it from WikiLeaks, some of it from new emails. The agents are actively and aggressively pursuing this case. They will be going back to interview the same people again, some for the third time.

As a result of the limited immunity deals to top aides, including Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson, the Justice Department had tentatively agreed that the FBI would destroy those laptops after a narrow review. We are told definitively that has not happened. Those devices are currently in the FBI field office here in Washington, D.C. and are being exploited.

The source points out that any immunity deal is null and void if any subject lied at any point in the investigation.

Meantime, the classified e-mail investigation is being run by the National Security division of the FBI. They are currently combing through former Democratic Congressman Anthony Wiener’s laptop and have found e-mails that they believe came from Hillary Clinton’s server that appear to be new, as in not duplicates.

Whether they contain classified material or not is not yet known. It will likely be known soon. All of this just as we move inside one week until election day.

The story goes on to say, that the FBI Believes Hillary’s private server had been hacked by at least five foreign intelligence agencies.  The Huma Abedin email store has emails that were not turned over to the FBI,  Cheryl Mills’ and Heather Samuelson’s laptops were not destroyed and are still being investigated.

Once again been here before, can only hope that this is resolved cleanly this time.

This seems to be getting to be an election year tradition. People who are in no position to tell anyone how to live their lives threaten to throw tantrums over the result of the election. Here’s a list of 10 from Heat Street.

LENA DUNHAM:

The Girls writer-actress said she was deadly serious about moving to Canada but then made it sound like she would do it as much for professional reasons as political ones

RAVEN SYMONE:

The actress, while she was co-hosting The View, declared in February she is “literally” going to Canada

BARBRA STREISAND:

“He has no facts. I don’t know, I can’t believe it,” Streisand fumed about Donald Trump.

LARRY FLYNT:

Asked last month by Toronto-based HOSS magazine what he will do if Trump gets elected, he replied: “I don’t know, maybe move to Canada. The thought of Donald Trump becoming president nauseates me in a big way.”

Quote of the Day

Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence.

Quiz: This One Is An Oldie But A Goody: The Polictcal Compass

I managed .05 as my score for the Authoritarian/Libertarian Axis . That seemed to be because the questions were excluding choices and positions.  That is what made this quiz interesting though, the way the questions were asked and the possible choices said much about the viewpoint of the designer.

Drink up That’s it for the Watercooler today. As always it’s an open thread
