Valerie Jarrett was a controversial personal adviser to Barack Obama during his entire administration. Stories about about the level of influence she had over Obama’s decisions while in office, and it’s unclear to this day what role she played in his key policies.

If her influence was as great as they say, then she is in large part responsible for the utter destruction of the Democratic Party on November 8th. Because failures get rewarded in the Democratic Party, however, Jarrett will receive nice paychecks for giving speeches.

That’s how this works. An administration is an utter failure, its only key achievements on the brink of getting undone, and people who were vital to that failure get cushy speech gigs.
