StemExpress obtains a restraining order against the Center for Medical Progress

According to Fox News, StemExpress (the company that Planned Parenthood has been selling baby parts to) has obtained a temporary restraining order against the Center for Medical Progress preventing them from releasing any more video for the time being.

A temporary restraining order has been issued preventing an anti-abortion group from releasing any video of leaders of a California company that provides fetal tissue to researchers. The group is the same one that previously shot viral covert video of a Planned Parenthood leader discussing the sale of aborted fetuses for research.

The Los Angeles Superior Court order issued Tuesday prohibits the Center for Medical Progress from releasing any video of three StemExpress officials taken at a restaurant in May.

Now, according to Fox News, it is preventing CMP from releasing footage of StemExpress officials. I don’t see anywhere where Planned Parenthood has a similar order in their favor. So far, all the videos released have been about Planned Parenthood officials. StemExpress gets their fetal tissue for researchers from Planned Parenthood, which is currently under a microscope from lawmakers concerning the whole “selling baby parts” enterprise they seem to have going.

StemExpress, with this restraining order, is acting like a group with something to hide, which makes me wonder just what was said at the dinner that was videotaped.

UPDATE: Here’s CMP’s statement on the restraining order, and it seems that this is solely a StemExpress restraining order, which would mean that Planned Parenthood videos are still fair game.

StemExpress, a for-profit company partnered with over 30 abortion clinics, including Planned Parenthood, to harvest and sell aborted baby parts and provide a “financial benefit” to Planned Parenthood clinics, is attempting to use meritless litigation to cover-up this illegal baby parts trade, suppress free speech, and silence the citizen press reporting on issues of burning concern to the American public. They are not succeeding—their initial petition was rejected by the court, and their second petition was eviscerated to a narrow and contingent order about an alleged recording pending CMP’s opportunity to respond. The Center for Medical Progress follows all applicable laws in the course of our investigative journalism work and will contest all attempts from Planned Parenthood and their allies to silence our First Amendment rights and suppress investigative journalism.
