WATCH: Gold Star Moms Rip Into Joe Biden's Phoniness in ABC Interview

The ABC segment begins with Biden reading from a teleprompter. It's hard to watch without becoming gripped by anger. It was two years ago. Biden looks bored, as if he's reading what someone had written for him. He was sorry. Sure, he was sorry that it happened. It made Joe look bad. At least he said something to that effect – but I was focused on his eyes. He looked uninterested, likely thinking of something else. He wanted to be anywhere but there. Thirteen Americans had been killed at Kabul airport. The "Abbey Gate." Indeed, it was his fault. The Pentagon, and ultimately Biden, had been warned. Those warnings were ignored.

Abbey Gate was a perfect place for a suicide bombing. It was a funnel full of civilians and U.S. military personnel. Terrorists exploited the crush of humanity and the lack of security, and they strapped explosives on a fellow terrorist and sent him out to murder as many people as possible. In addition to the thirteen Americans who died, dozens more were injured. One hundred and seventy Afghans were killed. And Biden was bored.

The remains of America’s fallen heroes were found, identified, and flown back to the United States. The scene of flag-draped caskets being removed from aircraft at Dover is heart-wrenching still.

Sgt. Nicole Gee was the Marine whose image has become the symbol of American humanity. Gee was photographed cradling a baby in her arms. She died "doing a job she loved." But when Nicole came home, her mother-in-law said, that when it came to "people in suits," things felt disingenuous and hollow. The casket containing Marine Cpl. Humberto Sanchez was at Dover Air Force Base as well. His grieving mom was at Dover. Joe Biden greeted Mrs. Sanchez by calling her “Ms. Lopez.”

Why did he do such an awful thing—such a disrespectful error? I have a theory. One of the fallen Marines was named Lopez. His first name was "Hunter." Joe Biden was thinking of another son. Not the sons of Mrs. Sanchez and Mrs. Lopez but his own son Hunter. Biden then, predictably, launched into his usual conflation about his other son, Beau. He “knew” how “Ms. Lopez” felt because his son Beau was a soldier, and Beau died in the GWT (Global War on Terrorism), too. Of course, he hadn't. That is a lie. Mrs. Sanchez was mortified. Of course, Biden didn’t know how she felt. Her son died in the service of his nation. He died helping others. Mrs. Sanchez correctly said Biden was with his son when Beau died in a hospital bed. Mrs. Sanchez added what we all feel and often say: “It was all about him.” It's always about Joe Biden.

Watch:

Staff Sgt. Darin Hoover’s mom was even more pointed. She couldn't stand the president. She wouldn't even meet with him. The Hoover family retreated to a room to escape Biden’s lies about Beau and his phony empathy. Her daughter and the sister of Staff Sgt. Hoover was also at Dover. She yelled at Biden, "Burn in Hell."

Mark Schmitz, the father of Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, wasn't part of the ABC interview, but he testified before a Congressional committee in August. He also talked about the Afghanistan debacle and Joe Biden's phoniness:

[My son] will never have the chance to get married. He will never experience the joy of being a father, and he would have made one hell of a dad. We will never meet our grandkids. Our family name died that day. Two years have gone by and where are we? To be frank, we're knee-deep in bulls*** is where we are. Everyone who held a key position in the military still has that position or has been promoted.

Not a single general slapped down their stars which should have happened when Biden ignored his reliable intelligence… our so-called leader cannot utter their names in public, not even once.

While I stood on the tarmac, watching you check your watch, over and over again, all I wanted to do was shout out "IT’S TWO F***ING THIRTY, A***HOLE!" but out of respect for the other grieving families, I bit my tongue, once again.

On the two-year anniversary, The White House had to be shamed into acknowledging the fallen but ignored its own failures.

ABC asked the White House for comment. John Kirby was tapped to respond to these Gold Star mothers.

“We do hope they know how deeply committed the President and First Lady remain to honor the service and sacrifice of their Marines, their Soldiers, and their Sailor.”

Not a word from Joe Biden. Busy. Maybe he was busy checking his watch.

Not that it matters to you, Mr. Biden, but here are their names
