As if we needed another reason to lose all interest in professional sports, ESPN expanding the role of renowned Maoist and escaped mental patient, Keith Olbermann at the network.

Remember when Rush Limbaugh got was forced to resign for saying this?

“Sorry to say this, I don’t think he’s been that good from the get-go,” Limbaugh said. “I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve. The defense carried this team.”

As an Eagles fan, I didn’t agree with 100% of that statement but I did agree that McNabb was overrated as a quarterback. I thought it had more to do with him being the kind of player who had an exciting highlight reel but didn’t have the consistency needed to win the big games. Amazing athletic displays are fun to watch and get good television ratings, but if they don’t put points on the board they’re not worth much to a franchise.

Still, to think that analysis by Limbaugh was too political and went too far for ESPN, but it’s apparently perfectly fine to be an ESPN personality if you’re this guy:

So far, Olbermann’s psychotic ranting about Russia taking over the country by colluding with Trump has proven to be about as reliable as his body’s serotonin production. That video is from his utterly ridiculous stint doing political videos for Esquire Magazine’s YouTube channel. A small part of me still thinks that might have all been a gag, but I think the preponderance of evidence shows that Keith Olbermann really is a genuinely insane, barking moonbat.

Leftist bomb-thrower and sometimes sports commentator Keith Olbermann has worked for a lot of media outlets. ESPN, MSNBC, Current TV, now GQ. He’s like the media version of a crazy uncle that comes to live with you until you just can’t handle breaking up one more heated argument between him and the neighbors’ labradoodle, so you pawn him off on your second cousin who you never really liked anyway.

Since Donald Trump became President-elect, we have seen our share of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Olby’s case of TDS is so severe it’s difficult to tell sometimes if you’re watching a leftist political commentary or an over-the-top Second City Television parody of Network featuring Eugene Levy in the Howard Beale role.

To say he has Trump Derangement Syndrome is not really an adequate diagnoses because he really is just well and truly deranged.

Good luck with that, ESPN. Who are you going to hire to clean his cage?
