Twitter user and prolific meme maker Carpe Donktum, who is regularly retweeted by President Trump, has been permanently banned from Twitter, allegedly because of a copyright infringement claim lodged by the parents of one of the toddlers in a satirical “racist toddler” video Donktum created that was tweeted by POTUS.
The original video showed two toddlers, one white and one black, running to hug one another. The version posted by Donktum, mocking CNN’s habit of posting chyrons stating pretty much the opposite of what the truth is, was edited to make it appear that the black toddler was running away from the white toddler, presumably in fear. The chyron read: “Terrified toddler runs from racist baby.”
After the black toddler’s fathers lodged a copyright claim, both Twitter and Facebook removed the video, which, for the moment, survives on YouTube:
RedState’s Brandon Morse covered the controversy, saying:
Donktum took a part of that video and added a CNN chyron that read “terrified toddler runs from racist baby.” Some tense music was added on top for good measure. The video ends with the full video shown of the happy toddlers playing together.
“America is not the problem, fake news is. If you see something say something. Only you can prevent fake news dumpster fires,” says a message at the end.
Of course, CNN had zero sense of humor about it:
The now-removed clip is a crude and misleading edit of a video that went viral last year which shows a Black child and a White child running to hug each other. The version posted to Trump’s account made it first appear as if the Black child was running away from the White child.
Well, they are experts in crude and misleading editing. Or is that Katie Couric and Second Amendment supporters? Such a tough competition.
The man who runs the Carpe Donktum Twitter account says that he received a takedown notice from Twitter Tuesday morning and complied, but received a suspension letter a few hours later. Writing from a new site at Locals.com, Donktum wrote:
I have been Permanently Suspended by twitter for the Todler video that President Trump tweeted last week.
I received a DMCA takedown order this morning for that video, and a few hours later a suspension letter.
Twitter has not provided me with any avenue to get my account back, so I assume they intend this to be final and permanent.
I have ALWAYS complied with DMCA takedown rules, and I have submitted counterclaims when necessary, but I have NEVER uploaded content that has been removed.
I have abided by the community guidelines, and followed the rules. It doesn’t matter.
I have been banned for being effective and they won’t even look me in the eye as they do it.
They have responded to ABC news, but not me, THE ACCOUNT HOLDER.
If you would like to support me, make noise, the only thing these people respond to is public outcry.
He then attached screenshots of the takedown notice and suspension letter.
Later Tuesday he recorded a Periscope video explaining some of the situation.

As Donktum said, Twitter didn’t ban him for violating a copyright. They banned him for being effective. I believe that most Americans see through Twitter’s Thought Police bulls**t, and the Thought Police are in for another very rough early November night.
