Doing Jobs Americans Won't Do: Operation Midway Blitz Uncovers That an Illinois Cop Is an Illegal Alien

Hanover Park is a northern Chicago suburb, a cushy community that is reportedly diverse, with an average median income of $100,000. So, you would think that a community that has resources and exceptionally high Cook County property taxes could easily find American citizens for its law enforcement. Through the Department of Homeland Security's "Operation Midway Blitz," we have discovered that the Hanover Park Police Department has broken that mold. If Illinois Governor JB Pritzker wasn't trying to mount a presidential campaign off his ugly rhetoric and "ICE Resistance," this might not have received the attention it has. But Pritzker has done this to himself, so deserves all the heat he'll get on this one.

A Hanover Park police officer accused of living in the U.S. illegally has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of a federal crackdown targeting sanctuary cities like Chicago.

What we know:

ICE said Thursday that agents arrested Radule Bojovic, a native of Montenegro, who was working as a sworn officer with the Hanover Park Police Department. Officials said Bojovic entered the U.S. on a tourist visa that expired in March 2015 and remained illegally for a decade.

Like former Des Moines school superintendent Ian Roberts, we have another man who not only skated the immigration system for an extended period of time, but who robbed a position from an American who actually needed the work. Present salary for an entry-level Hanover Park PD officer is $83,803.20 annually, with a detailed application and multi-phase vetting process

The recruitment video above mentions more than once that part of the officer requirements is that an applicant exhibit the highest ethics and integrity. Looks like Bojovic missed that part by not only overstaying his visa, but fraudulently taking a peace officer role that he was ineligible for because of his immigration status.

The arrest came during Operation Midway Blitz, a DHS enforcement campaign launched in September to target undocumented immigrants with criminal records in the Chicago area.

According to DHS, Hanover Park Police Department records confirm Bojovic was approved by the Pension Fund Board of Trustees in January 2025 and eligible for a starting salary of $78,955.

DHS said records also show his total earnings this year cost taxpayers $205,707, including $9,276 for FICA/Medicare taxes.

This is what sanctuary policies get you. As Chief Border Patrol Agent Greg Bovino explains, illegal aliens are not even supposed to be in possession of firearms, let alone work as a law enforcement officer. Yet, here we are.
