The Biden State Department is determined to control the narrative of those Americans they left behind and who are being held hostage in Afghanistan. What they fail to realize is that the narrative got away from them weeks ago. Yet, they continually gaslight, obstruct, and obfuscate. While the hostage situation was unfolding at Mazar-i-Sharif airport on Sunday, Biden’s Chief of Staff Ron Klain went on CNN’s State of the Union with Dana Bash to deceive not only about the number of Americans and allies left behind, but that they were actually doing work to rescue them.
“We’re gonna find ways to get them—the ones that want to leave—out of Afghanistan,” Klain told Bash.
The ones that want to leave… these cretins are still trying to paint the picture that our citizens have a choice in this matter. While the Biden State Department may not be actively blocking the exit doors, they are holding on to the legs of people trying to run for the doors. Even when private organizations attempt an extract, it still requires the ability to safely land in another allied airport, with everyone having proper visas and paperwork in place. This is where the State Department is essentially gumming up the works by either changing or withholding paperwork at the last possible moment, or refusing to authorize the plane’s landing at a Department of Defense approved airport.
My colleague Nick Arama reported yesterday that the State Department’s latest attempt was to take credit for a rescue of which they had little part.
Fox News had more to say on this:
The organizer of a private mission to rescue an American mom, Mariam, and her three children from Afghanistan says the U.S. State Department is now trying to insert itself into the story of her evacuation, despite playing little to no role for much of the rescue effort.
Senior State Department officials on Monday announced that the “U.S. has facilitated the safe departure of four US citizens by overland route from Afghanistan. Embassy staff was present upon their arrival.”
But those actually involved in the dangerous rescue operation say the State Department deserves little to no credit for Mariam’s escape from Afghanistan.
Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) tweeted out the success of their rescue:
After 2 weeks & multiple life threatening attempts, I am overjoyed to share that 4 U.S. citizens from #TX13 were part of the first successful ground evacuation since the U.S. left Kabul. Thank you to Cory Mills & the other patriots on his team for saving these BRAVE Americans! pic.twitter.com/1Tv9KRUgcE

Cory Mills and a private team of military veterans, drawing on funding by private donors including the Sentinel Foundation, led the effort to rescue Mariam and her three children from Afghanistan, where they had been left behind by the Biden administration, multiple sources with knowledge of Mariam’s evacuation confirmed to Fox News.
Mills and his team worked for weeks to get Mariam’s family out of Afghanistan after Republican Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson alerted him to the family’s plight.
But the good stenographers at CNN wrote an article that credited the State Department with the rescue of this family. Rep. Jackson was understandably livid:
This article makes me want to PUKE! The State Dept didn’t do a damn thing for these people for 12 days except almost get them killed repeatedly. I know, because my office and the team on the ground led by Cory Mills & @RepMullin facilitated their escape every step of the way. https://t.co/0X5eRVu14I

As Arama further reported, the State Department did have a role… sort of:
The State Department’s ultimate role? They helped get them tourist visas after they had already gotten out across the border into another country. Big help. Both Rep. Markwayne Mullin and Rep. Ronny Jackson said the State Department’s claims were false, Mullin calling it a “flat out lie.”
Arama also reported on the six planes full of Americans being forcefully held by the Taliban at Mazar-i-Sharif airport. In another article, I alluded to Rep. Mike McCaul’s (R-TX) interview on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, calling the situation what it is: a hostage takeover.

Despite other outlets corroborating Rep. McCaul’s claims, the State Department continued to use doublespeak to neither confirm or deny that any situation of this nature is occurring.
A White House spokesperson told CNN Sunday night the administration continues “to work around the clock to ensure safe passage out for any Americans who are seeking to leave Afghanistan.”
And a separate source familiar with details told CNN Sunday that the US government is “not aware of any hostage situation,” like McCaul described and “has not confirmed any Americans” are in Mazar-i-Sharif, trying to leave from the airport.
The National Security Council did not immediately respond to a request for comment on McCaul’s claims.
This morning, Secretary of State Antony Blinken was also swift to dismiss this possibility.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday denied claims that the Taliban are holding American citizens hostage in Afghanistan by refusing to allow flights to leave the country.
“We are not aware of anyone being held on an aircraft or any hostage life situation in Mazar-i-Sharif,” Blinken said during a press conference in Doha, Qatar, where he arrived Monday.
However, when your own party breaks ranks and blasts you, then it should be apparent that your narrative has been obliterated. Democrat Senator Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal (D-CT) is calling out the State Department for its inability to get the flights off the ground.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., is “furious” over the Biden administration delaying flights with Americans trying to escape Afghanistan after President Biden’s botched troop withdrawal.
The senator from Connecticut issued a press release on Monday eviscerating the Biden administration for delaying flights out of the Mazar-e Sharif airport in Afghanistan following reports of the administration not giving the evacuation flights the green light.
The senator revealed that he and his staff have been working around the clock to “secure the safe passage of two planes” on the airport tarmac carrying “American citizens, at-risk Afghan allies, and their families.”
The Biden Administration knows that the Afghanistan withdrawal is the very definition of FUBAR. For those unfamiliar with the precise definition of this military term, look it up. In mid-August, my colleague Bonchie reported that the State Department had eliminated President Trump’s crisis response bureau for situations such as this. A bureau that would have allowed a smooth and orderly evacuation of American citizens, instead of the train wreck that led up to the August 31 withdrawal, with hundreds still left behind.
Another story is developing of a recently leaked email from the Biden State Department showing they would not grant official authorization for private agency flights from Afghanistan to land in third-world countries. This, despite the DoS knowing that this is necessary for any planes to land in those countries. All this adds to the dumpster fire that burns down any narrative this administration tries to create that they’re “gonna find ways to get them.”
It’s angering, as well as heartbreaking, that our own government wishes to see its citizens enslaved and destroyed.
To what end? Investigative Journalist Lara Logan has presented some credible theories.
Logan spoke with Glenn Beck on August 27, just before the August 31 final date of the evacuation. Logan points out the evils the State Department perpetrated on private individuals and agencies who are risking their lives to rescue American citizens.
Logan said,
“This betrayal is an historic shame that will define the United States until the end of time, for as long as we still have.”
The ultimate destruction of the United States and what it represents is the goal. How do you destroy an ideal? You destroy the people who represent that ideal before the entire world. Logan’s conversation with Beck is only 14 minutes long, and well worth the listen.
Logan is one of the fearless voices and conduits of information for those who have been left behind in Afghanistan. Logan debunks the Department of Defense’s lie that the Afghan forces just gave up, and she has been committed to championing those forces, and the many Afghan people who have not given up and joined the Taliban, but are resisting and fighting for their lives, with what little they have left.
How many people would be brave enough to stand & fight w odds like this? They’re not just facing Al Qaeda/Taliban, US & Afghan intel report they’re fighting Iran, China, Russia & Pakistan who’re assisting w signals intel, targeting, resupply etc https://t.co/OGDNdrRfn1

Have we heard this reported on the 5:00 p.m. news? Asking for a friend.
Along with Logan, combat correspondent Michael Yon is reporting on the veterans, private agencies, and organizations rescuing Americans, and is keeping people informed through his SitRep posts. This one from September 5 gives insight into the changing circumstances on the ground, and who is ultimately responsible for the fact that Americans and allies cannot get out of the country:
Just off phone with Rick Clay. Rick is okay that I use his name.
Rick Clay and team still have aircraft ready. Recall that Rick’s team had 3x jets at Kabul on 30 August.
Rick believes his group has enough funding for 1 airliner flight per day. DoS is only problem.
To be clear, and to restate: The problem is NOT Taliban, but US Department of State.
Rick said his sources at [elided] saying Kabul Airport is mined now, and also Iranians may have emplaced surface to air missiles around Kabul airport to prevent our retaking airport.
Why is this SITREP not secret? Because our best chance of getting Americans out is through Biden’s allies, the Taliban, and not through Biden. Department of State is the problem. US military is the problem. Taliban are just normal jihadists with suicide vests.
Thank you for your support. I am packing
This administration relies on two things: the short attention span of many Americans, and their ability to change the subject whenever they wish. Look at Dementia Joe Biden talking about COVID and climate change, or VP Kamala Harris flying off to California to campaign against the Recall of Gavin Newsom. This is more evidenced in Raggedy Jen Psaki’s and the State Department’s press briefings, where they form words and give copious amounts of information, while saying absolutely nothing.
The Congress members who are on the side of right, and journalists like Lara Logan, Michael Yon, and others, are among the few who can continue to puncture this administration’s lies and double-dealings, and keep unmasking the truth.
