Gavin Newsom and his cohorts in the California Legislature are under the delusion that if a Recall Election is held sooner, rather than later, that it will benefit him. The ground operatives involved in the Gavin Newsom Recall saw this election manipulation coming, and I reported on it earlier in June:
This Legislature is working hard to ensure their sitting governor stays seated. According to the current Recall law, the budgetary process can take up to 60 days to review the counties’ proposed estimates. However, the Legislature has introduced a bill which will basically give the Joint Legislative Budget Committee the ability to allocate funds toward the Recall without going through a lengthy review.
That bill, SB152, was passed by the Legislature last night, and Newsom will, of course, sign it into law.

It is a shameful thing when you assume people are too stupid to understand you’re gaming the system to hang on to power.
It's official. Gavin Newsom has changed the timing of his own Recall in an attempt to suppress votes against him. All decent Californians must unite to remove the most corrupt governor in our history.

It’s also a shameful thing when your own people are too stupid to make sure their Ts are crossed, and their Is are dotted. The appointed Secretary of State Shirley Weber failed to put Newsom’s party designation on the Recall ballot, so he is suing to have the change made!
Crazily, Newsom’s team messed up the paperwork so he won’t appear as a Democrat on the Recall ballot. He’s now suing his handpicked Secretary of State to reclaim his cherished partisan label.

California leads the way… to incompetence.
Newsom's legal team so far:
1. Did not appeal judge's ruling giving recall supporters extra time to collect signatures, effectively letting the recall get on the ballot
2. Failed to identify Newsom as a Democrat on his paperwork, as allowed by a law signed by Newsom himself https://t.co/iH7u6Rxctb

I watched Hair Gel’s legal team go up against Asms. Kevin Kiley and James Gallagher over their abuse of power lawsuit. Trust me, they are not the sharpest knives in the drawer… but, I digress.
More failure of the supermajority party. So much incompetence

To the Republicans’ credit, they are at least raising an outcry. Not that it really matters at this point. Super Majority gonna Super Majority.
California Republicans accused Democrats of acting unfairly Monday as state lawmakers passed a bill aimed at moving up Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s recall date.
“The conclusion is inescapable that Gavin Newsom is cheating in the recall and this Legislature is his willing accomplice,” said Republican Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, who is considering running in the contest.
The proposal, now headed to Newsom’s desk, would allow the recall to proceed at least 30 days earlier than under existing state law. Democrats hope to take advantage of what they view as favorable conditions for Newsom as the state moves on from the worst days of the pandemic and related restrictions.
Democratic Assemblyman Phil Ting acknowledged the bill will “ensure that this recall election happens as soon as possible” and said that’s something the recall’s supporters should want.
Phil Ting is part of that San Francisco Cabal who has been riding Newsom’s coattails for decades. Ting made some questionable moves when he served as San Francisco County Assessor, and has managed to keep getting reelected to the Assembly and wormed his way into holding the purse strings as Budget Chair. Ting had his sights set on the State Controller desk in 2022, until he bedded and manipulated a South African immigrant, then used her life to craft his legislation. I broke that story a little over a year ago, and you can find it here, here, and here.
While Ting admitted to the affair, he denies it affected his legislation. Suffice to say he’ll do what is necessary to maintain his seat on Hair Gel’s gravy train.
This waiver of the Budget rules and manipulation of the timing of the Recall election, before the election has even happened, is the latest effort to ensure the corruption keeps flowing and the bodies remain buried.
As I said earlier, this is not the first time Democrats have done this in order to weight an election in their favor.
The AP continues to spill the tea:
This marks the second time Democrats are changing the rules in hopes of helping their own. Four years ago, they added new steps to the recall process as a state senator faced a removal vote. At the time, they hoped to slow things down so the vote would align with the next primary. The changes gave voters who signed the recall petition 30 business days to remove their signatures and set a process for state finance officials and lawmakers to estimate and review election costs.
The State Senator mentioned, Josh Newman (D-Crapweasal), was recalled. But as we understand in this state, evil never dies, it just runs for another election. Newman did, and regained his Senate seat. Newman’s last end-run around the Recall rules was to attempt to pass legislation that would expose Recall signatories to being harassed by the candidate they are attempting to oust.
He’s not bitter at all.
So we now know that Democrats and the well-heeled special interests that have poured money into the Stop the Republican Recall coffers, will stop at nothing to ensure that His Hairfulness continues his one-man rule and the unfettered destruction of the State.
Here’s their mistake: Hair Gel’s arrogance is once again rearing its ugly head, and it is this very arrogance that created an atmosphere for over 2.1 million signatures to be collected in the first place. The forward-thinking of the Recall organizers ensured that more signatures were collected than could be discounted, and 1.7 million were verified, which allowed for the Recall election to occur.
All of these machinations are also a reflection of fear. If Hair Gel and the California Democrats were truly confident in the puffed up polling, and his frenzied attempts at being King Beneficence, they would not have to manipulate anything.
It's almost as if he wants to get it over before the specter of unemployment debt and other repercussions of lockdown mentality are brought to light…by then we'll be stuck with him and he knows he'd lose if people really knew that all of the big programs he's touted are wastes

My colleague Kira Davis wrote a great article explaining the next steps leading up to a Recall election, and what is at stake. Kira also points out that the odds of getting rid of Hair Gel are decidedly in our favor.
Now, this isn’t to say that the California GOP doesn’t have a long, long, long, long, long, long, very long way to go in repairing their image in this state and making permanent inroads. The list of current Republican candidates is not that inspiring, to be sure. This is one recall election, but if we want to have any chance at combatting the political insanity in this state, the state and national GOP need to start sinking a lot more resources into longterm plans for persuasion and campaigning. The GOP in California has traditionally been led by career politicians and the consultant class who have been perfectly fine with being the “loser opposition” in the state. There’s a lot of money to be raised on the back of that.
“Oh, if we just had another $5 million we could beat the Dems once and for all!”
Wash, rinse, repeat.
There are people working to change the state party and that work shouldn’t be ignored. But it is what it is right now.
Those people working for change, and the Recall Newsom ground operatives see it all, and they are not only confident, but determined. They also saw the shifting sands on the actual election, and are already prepared. Here s how it will work to the advantage of removing Newsom and seeing him replaced.
1. Ground Game.
An infrastructure was created, not by the California GOP, but by the grassroots organizers of RecallGavin2020.com, who worked their hindquarters off to collect all those signatures. That same ground game will be used to inform, motivate, and most importantly, get people to Vote YES on removing Gavin Newsom as California governor.
2. Motivation.
If there is less than 100 days to mount a campaign, the enthusiasm and motivation is on our side. You can guarantee that whether it be by mail-in ballot or polls, those who want this governor gone are going to show up and see it done, and they are going to encourage others to do the same.
The same cannot be said for the uninformed, clueless, and obtuse that still support this nightmare. If the election happens in August, half of them will still be on vacation somewhere, and probably would have forgotten to submit their ballot early.
3. Element of Surprise.
While the current slate of candidates are not currently moving any needles (looking at you both, John Cox and Kevin Faulconer), that infrastructure I talked about above is working toward some sweet surprises that Newsom will not see coming.
Let the conventional wisdom and cynics say what they will. Gavin Newsom is going to be Recalled.
