Ever lived in a home with cockroaches? If you live in the Midwest or any major metropolis, it’s a perpetual battle to keep those critters at bay. What happens when you turn on the light in your kitchen? Any cockroaches on the hunt for food and water scatter, and try to find a place to hide.
That’s what is happening in our political landscape. Everything is being exposed to the light, and we are watching the black-winged creatures scramble. We are the better for it. We know the cockroaches are embedded in the walls just waiting for their opportunity to run rampant. They even assume it is their right and mandate to do so. Thankfully, good people, the American people, are bringing out the light of disinfectant and stomping them underfoot.
After a year of shifting narratives, hypocrisy, and overreach, we are Woke. Not in the social justice way, but in its original meaning of the past tense for “Wake”. We are fully awake, aware, and we’re not going to buy into the propaganda and the total robbery of our country and freedoms:

“The people are watching this,” Scalise insisted.
Yes, we are watching. No longer will the political and bureaucratic class be allowed to spin and create a system that is convenient to them, but restricts us. The Border Crisis is a case in point. While they are insisting there is “no crisis”, they are transporting COVID-positive illegal immigrants across our borders and into major population centers like Arizona and Florida. This cannot stand.
Even left-leaning publications and legacy media are calling Joe Biden out on his hypocrisy and failure to own a crisis that was of his own making.
On Sunday, when asked about Trump perhaps visiting the border, Biden said: “I don’t care what the other guy does.” Trump has said he will likely visit the border in the next couple of weeks.
And while he might not care about what his predecessor does now, Biden has been happy to talk about things Trump did—particularly on the border.
Biden insisted “nothing has changed” during his press conference last Thursday regarding the surge of migrants at the border, stating there were similar numbers last year under the Trump Administration.
There is generally an increase in numbers at the border in spring as the weather improves, and this has posed problems for previous presidents.
However, Biden’s numbers were off in regard to unaccompanied children—with the increase in the number of minors arriving alone at the border from January to February higher this year than it was last.
Numbers of migrants at the border are also tipped to hit a 20-year high, though statistics have also shown boosted figures began prior to Biden’s inauguration.
A group of GOP Senators, which includes Ted Cruz (R-TX), James Lankford (R-OK), Susan Collins (R-ME), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Chuck Grassley (R-IA), decided to go to the border to see firsthand what was happening. They have been contradicting the confusion and spin given out by this administration.
Republican senators on Friday released shocking pictures of migrants and children packed into border facilities as they railed against what they called a border crisis of President Biden’s own creation.
“This is inhumane, it is wrong and it is the direct consequence of policy decisions by the Biden administration to stop building the wall, to return to catch-and-release, and to end the stay-in-Mexico policy,” Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said in a press conference.

Senator Lankford even stuck into a migrant facility in McAllen, TX and secretly filmed:
Border Patrol is overwhelmed, overworked, & discouraged by new policies. Agents took us through a dangerous path to the Rio Grande where we could hear the Cartel members taunting us across the river. Human trafficking, child abuse, & drug smuggling are rampant. This is a crisis.

But beyond the political class, Border Patrol agents are the ones pushing back. Project Veritas released an interview with a Customs and Border Patrol agent who confirmed and talked about the atrocities occurring:
So, despite the effort to advance a certain narrative and to convince the American people that there is either “nothing to see here”, or, “it’s Trump’s fault”, because of the light being shone and the consistent confirmation of facts on the ground, the tide is shifting in the direction of exposing the failures of the Biden administration on the Border Crisis.
One of this regime’s mistakes is that President Trump not only accomplished a good majority of what he set out to do concerning the Border, but there was actual documented and definable improvement in the four years of his presidency. Perhaps had there been some distance between Biden’s foolish executive orders and Trump’s original policies, they might have gotten away with their wholesale gaslighting. Instead, the gaping holes and flaws in Biden’s Border Policy are being laid at his feet, because had he kept Trump’s policies in place, we would not be seeing the increase in trafficking and corruption that is now occurring.
My colleague Kyle Becker has been shedding light on the push for vaccine passports.
The Biden administration is set to launch a COVID passport that would track Americans that took the vaccine, despite warnings by civil rights advocates.
“The Biden administration and private companies are working to develop a standard way of handling credentials — often referred to as ‘vaccine passports’ — that would allow Americans to prove they have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus as businesses try to reopen,” the Washington Post reported on Sunday.
“The effort has gained momentum amid President Biden’s pledge that the nation will start to regain normalcy this summer and with a growing number of companies — from cruise lines to sports teams — saying they will require proof of vaccination before opening their doors again,” the report continued.
As noted civil liberties attorney Harmeet Dhillon recognizes, this is an extension of government overreach from the executive orders and the COVID lockdowns which, had the Supreme Court upheld the Constitution across the board in these cases, might have seen a different result.

It is an extreme disconnect, and from the gleeful reporting of the Washington Post, something that our betters look forward to with relish:
The administration’s initiative has been driven largely by arms of the Department of Health and Human Services, including an office devoted to health information technology, said five officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the effort. The White House this month took on a bigger role coordinating government agencies involved in the work, led by coronavirus coordinator Jeff Zients, with a goal of announcing updates in coming days, said one official.
Former California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is now Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), as the Senate foolishly confirmed him. Here in California, we know that Becerra is a pure social justice warrior who knows little about the law, but a lot about limiting freedoms. As our Salem colleague Tyler O’Neil covered:
Becerra has no medical experience, but he has a long track record of promoting leftist social issues and silencing those who disagree. As California attorney general, Becerra continued the prosecution of pro-life journalist David Daleiden (after Kamala Harris began it). Becerra also vigorously defended a California law that would have forced pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise abortion — before the Supreme Court struck it down. Becerra also targeted the Little Sisters of the Poor after the Trump administration provided an exemption for the nuns the Obamacare contraception mandate.
Becerra also sued the Trump HHS after the agency struck down an Obama-era rule forcing transgender ideology in health care. He also furthered Kamala Harris’s policy of demanding that nonprofit organizations turn over their donor lists, which would likely expose the donors to harassment, especially since the California attorney general’s office has previously leaked this kind of donor information.
So, it is no surprise that he is now in charge of this Orwellian overreach. However, as stated above, when you have the Leftist news outlets reporting push back and hesitation, it lets you know there is more to be exposed:
Its impacts range from the speed at which economies can open, to when grandparents and grandchildren can hug again, but it is causing growing unease among decision-makers who warn there is a danger of dividing societies already under huge strain due to pandemic restraints.
Germany’s ethics council, an independent body that advises the government, has recommended that no special conditions be granted to the inoculated. It declared it was “currently unacceptable to lift state restrictions on civil liberties”, arguing not only was there a lack of evidence over whether vaccinated people could still spread the virus, but that introducing special privileges for them might encourage an “elbow mentality” which could lead to unrest.
As Harmeet Dhillon urged, this will be the civil rights issue of our time, and the push back from We The People should be fierce and vocal. Keep shining the light, and draw the line on anything that wants to remove more of your God-given and Constitutional freedoms. This is the only way we will be able to maintain them.
