Trump Tells SAG-AFTRA, “You’re Fired!” Quits the Union

In classic Donald J. Trump fashion, the former President has told the bloated and self-important Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) to get bent.

In other words, “Bye, Felicia!”

My colleague Alex Parker reported last month,

“As reported by Deadline, Article XIV of the SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) Constitution lays it out:

“A member may be reprimanded, censured, fined, suspended or expelled from membership in the Union for any of the following offenses:

  • Violation of any of the provisions of this Constitution, or the policies, rules or regulations adopted by the Union or any of its Locals.

  • Engaging in actions antagonistic to the interests or integrity of the Union, any of its affiliated Locals or its membership, including providing services covered by the Union’s jurisdiction for any employer declared unfair by the National Board.

“That ‘antagonistic’ part may prove…wait for it…problematic.

“Apropos, the union’s national board of directors convened Tuesday morning for a special session to discuss disciplinary action against the nation’s highest-ranking executive.

“And — in case you forgot — former star of The Apprentice.”

I am not sure what the board of directors of SAG-AFTRA have been smoking or drinking lately. Maybe they are getting a buzz from their vainglorious farts. Whatever the case, they are seriously deluded. They need Donald J. Trump more than he needs them—that has always been the case, and he just said as much.

Fox News obtained Trump’s official letter which was written to SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris. For my fellow GenXers, she is “Andrea” from the original Beverly Hills 90210, and has been dining out on that ever since—that tells you much about the membership and mindset of this institution.

Trump wrote:

“I write to you today regarding the so-called Disciplinary Committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares!

“While I’m not familiar with your work, I’m very proud of my work on movies such as Home Alone 2Zoolander, and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-AirSaturday Night Live, and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprentice—to name just a few!

“I’ve also greatly helped the cable news television business (said to be a dying platform with not much time left until I got involved in politics), and created thousands of jobs at networks such as MSDNC and Fake News CNN, among many others.

“Which brings me to your blatant attempt at free media attention to distract from your dismal record as a union. Your organization has done little for its members, and nothing for me — besides collecting dues and promoting dangerous un-American policies and ideas — as evident by your massive unemployment rates and lawsuits from celebrated actors, who even recorded a video asking, ‘Why isn’t the union fighting for me?’

“These, however, are policy failures. Your disciplinary failures are even more egregious.

“I no longer wish to be associated with your union. As such, this letter is to inform you of my immediate resigning from SAG-AFTRA. You have done nothing for me.”

<insert slow clap>

He’s not wrong.

Former President Donald J. Trump was Donald J. Trump before SAG, AFTRA, and their heat seeking agents sought him out to appear in their productions in order to up their viewership and street credentials. Trump has always been a kinetic power and a presence, and that will not change. Trump parlayed that power and presence into a successful presidency, despite how the legacy media and Resistance types want to paint it, and whatever he chooses to do post-presidency will be just as consequential—maybe even moreso.

Trump is still living rent-free in most of the media’s head. They cannot stop talking about him, even when they are still trying to destroy him. Trump’s savage mastery of this ridiculous SAG-AFTRA ploy is a clear indicator that he will continue to come out with his power, presence, and personality intact. We cannot say the same for the entertainment and media institutions that are virtue-signaling and rejecting him based on ginned up falsehoods and carefully crafted lies.

So, with Broadway shut down, television production limited, and movie theater productions in jeopardy, good luck with getting an audience back. SAG-AFTRA is another useless Union that is searching for relevance. Like the rest of these job-crushing, money-grubbing institutions, its time is coming to a close.

As always, I’m here for it… with popcorn.
