I know it has become cliché to point out when Democrats “say the quiet part out loud.” But for this particular story, it’s hard not to use the hackneyed saying.

During an event in Nevada, President Joe Biden gave a speech in which he addressed a series of issues. One of these was abortion, a topic Democrats have been harping about since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. During his speech, Biden claimed that Republicans are “planning a national ban on the right to choose” and vowed that if “MAGA Republicans try to pass a national ban on the right to choose, I will veto it.”

He then referenced Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been tasked with heading up the White House’s messaging on abortion, lauding her for “doing an incredible job going around the country making the case” for pro-abortion policies.

Then, Biden took his foot in his hand and shoved it firmly into his mouth after pivoting to the topic of late-term abortion, one of Democrats’ favorite issues to dodge.

If you put this mini-word salad into the Biden Translator app, it would read: “I, President Biden, do support late-term abortions because that’s what all three trimesters means.”

What is noteworthy about this particular "gaffe" is that typically, when faced with questions regarding their views on late-term abortions, Democrats tend to flee faster than the roadrunner running away from Wile E. Coyote.

Remember when failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams was asked about this issue? RedState's Becca Lower wrote:

In a stunning moment Sunday, the Democrat gubernatorial nominee for the state of Georgia, Stacey Abrams admitted exactly where her party stands when it comes to abortion. In an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” Abrams flatly refused–twice–to reject abortions taking place up to the point of birth.

Abrams was pressed during a “Fox News Sunday” interview to respond to the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade on Friday and whether she believed there should be any limitations on abortion.

“I believe that abortion is a medical decision. And I believe that that should be a choice made between a doctor and a woman and in consultation with her family,” Abrams said. “But I think the challenge that we have is that we keep putting this in a political space. This is a medical decision. And the medical choices that should be made should be governed by what is best for that woman. And what is the best suggestion of an advice of their doctor.”

The reality is that by not giving a direct answer to the question, Democrats are making it abundantly clear that they fully support abortion up to the point of birth. If they didn’t, they would simply say so, would they not?

Of course, Democrats’ actions also reveal their true beliefs about abortion. You might recall how Democrats responded to the overturning of Roe by trying to enshrine the ruling into law at the national level. They pushed a bill that would have allowed abortion up to the point of birth, and every Democratic senator, with the exception of Joe Manchin (D-WV), voted in favor of it.

Reports say that Democrats had brought an attempt to break the filibuster so they can bring Roe v Wade to the floor in order to codify it into law. Their end goal was to legalize abortion nationwide up until birth with what would be no limits. As you can imagine, every single Republican voted against this and they were joined by none other than West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin who had indicated that he’d vote against it earlier in the day.

This resulted in Democrats being 11 votes shy of what they needed to pass Roe into law.

This was no mere gaffe on Biden’s part. Yes, he was trying to pretend he does not support late-term abortion, but I think we all know what would have happened if the bill codifying Roe into law had landed on his desk. It is highly doubtful that he would have vetoed it. If Democrats want to make abortion a central issue in the upcoming election, Republicans had better hammer home just how extreme their opponents are on the issue.
