The House of Representatives passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, and the progressive left is quite upset by it. The legislation, which is intended to protect female athletes, has been met with scorn from Democrats, who insist it is transphobic.
The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act mandates that schools must safeguard individuals from discrimination based on their biological sex. This was the original purpose of Title IX as it pertains to athletics. This legislation guarantees that only individuals who are biologically female will compete against other biological females in women’s sports that receive federal education funding.
Good news: The House just passed a bill to protect women’s sports. The Senate should take it up quickly and also pass it.
Bad news: Joe Biden has pledged to veto it.

Every Republican lawmaker voted in favor of the measure; Democrats voted against it. While it is being hailed as a victory on the airwaves and interwebs, the legislation will likely be defeated in the Senate, which is dominated by Democrats.
This vote comes after multiple states passed legislation barring biological males from competing in women’s sports. States like Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, and several others have enacted laws or executive orders designed to protect biologically female athletes.
Democrats railed against the law. Some claimed it was a form of “bullying” against transgender youth, while others pretended biological males in women’s sports isn’t an issue. This was the line House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) took on Thursday after the measure passed.
“MAGA Republicans are trying to sensationalize an issue that doesn’t really exist in the way that they are falsely portraying,” he told reporters.
Rep. Greg Landsman (D-OH) said the bill “is about bullying children.”
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) made a similar argument, claiming that “Republicans are choosing to bully and belittle trans children.”
“We should rename it the cancel kids trans hate bill,” said Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-MI). “This bill fuels a virulent hate campaign against kids who just want to play with their friends.”
Before the vote, Rep. Eric Swalwell, who looks like Dexter, posted a tweet claiming, without irony, Republicans “want to invade our kids’ locker rooms.”
These creeps want to invade our kids’ locker rooms. I’m voting against it. https://t.co/dZ29mQ4nX3

The Women’s March posted a tweet insisting that “trans girls deserve to play sports just like any other kid.”
Trans rights are human rights are women's rights.
Trans girls deserve to play sports just like any other kid. The GOP doesn't care about women's sports, they care about bullying and controlling trans people. https://t.co/040pan5Z7T

If you’re like me, you have probably questioned why these people want so badly for biological males to compete with biological females in sports. After all, despite their penchant for lying about it, these people are fully aware of the fact that men are physically stronger than women, meaning that these people have an unfair advantage in most sporting events.
What is the point of trying to convince, compel, or coerce people into accepting the absurd notion that men and women are no different from one another? What could possibly be gained from this, other than scoring cheap political points?
I think the answer lies in critical theory – particularly when it comes to gender.
Critical theory is a multidisciplinary approach to understanding and critiquing societal structures, systems, and practices that perpetuate inequality, oppression, and injustice. It is an ideology that is highly favored by the authoritarian left. It emerged as a school of thought within the social sciences and humanities, particularly in fields such as sociology, philosophy, cultural studies, and political science; It has evolved over time with contributions from various scholars and thinkers.
At its core, critical theory seeks to analyze and challenge the underlying power dynamics, social norms, and ideologies that shape and maintain social hierarchies. It examines how power operates in society, including how it is distributed, exercised, and legitimized, and how it impacts different groups of people based on factors such as race, gender, class, sexuality, and ability. Critical theorists supposedly aim to uncover the ways in which social structures and systems can perpetuate inequality, oppression, and marginalization, and to identify strategies for social transformation and liberation.
Gender theory, like critical race theory, is an offshoot of critical theory. It is a multidisciplinary field of study that seeks to understand and critically examine the social, cultural, and psychological aspects of gender. It challenges traditional notions of gender as binary (male/female) and explores how gender is constructed, performed, and experienced in different societies and cultures. Gender theory encompasses a wide range of perspectives, including feminist theory, queer theory, and transgender studies, among others, and aims to illuminate the complex ways in which gender shapes and is shaped by society.
But the crux of this issue as it pertains to sports is that the theory seeks to deconstruct and challenge gender stereotypes, roles, and expectations that contribute to inequality, discrimination, and oppression. It looks at the ways in which societal norms and practices can reinforce rigid gender binaries, reinforce oppressive gender hierarchies, and limit individuals’ autonomy and self-expression.
Gender theorists acknowledges and affirms diverse gender identities and expressions beyond the traditional male/female binary. It is why they believe there are currently 40 billion different genders. I might not have those numbers exactly right, but it’s close.
Gender theorists often work towards promoting gender inclusivity, acceptance, and empowerment, and advocate for policy reforms, legal protections, and social change to advance the well-being and rights of all individuals regardless of their gender identity or expression.
So, what does all this gobbledygook mean?
It means that in the leftist religion, one has to acknowledge, accept, and celebrate almost any idea that flies in the face of traditional views regarding gender. The problem with this is that, like every other progressive ideology, there is an nugget of truth that they exaggerate to the point of absurdity.
Can one make valid cases for challenging some of our ingrained perceptions of gender? Sure. Sensible people can agree and disagree on this.
But in the world of authoritarian leftism, this has to be taken to an extreme that no longer resembles sanity. It is why they can say things like “men can get pregnant” and “women can have penises” with a straight face. Indeed, even if their ideas brazenly defy science, the dogma dictates that they must still believe it, even if they have to engage in all kinds of mental gymnastics to do so.
It is for this reason some of these people will foolishly argue that men do not have physical advantages over women. They are in a religious/political cult that has a tenuous relationship with reality and rationality. The problem with this is not that they have these wacky beliefs. The issue is that they seek to force the rest of us to play into them as well, which is why, in 2023, it is even necessary to pass legislation preventing biological males from competing in women’s sports.
